Things aren't as bad as they seem. It's about as bad as it's been. Main thing we really need to worry about is global warming and cooling, and since now the rise of the oceans is, unfortunately, now impossible to stop (thanks to the collapsing of the antarctic glaciers and their melting), that's something that we're gonna have to deal with before our grandchildren and their children are left with a completely devastated planet.

You go ahead and pray to your god. Meanwhile I'm gonna be looking to the guys who actually get shit done to get humanity out of this ecological mess.

This is quite the active thread. All I can say is that people have been saying the world will end soon, ever since Jesus told the people he was with thta some of them wouldn't taste death until everything ended. He thought the end would be coming real quick, indicated by his message of giving away all of your possessions ans following him. It would be pretty irresponsible to do that otherwise. Unless he intended christians to live like Xiaolin monks. Either way the catholics didn't seem to care for that sort of message.

Anyway, I'm not about to "get on the ark" to save myself from the very person who wants me to worship him. He wants to save me from the crap he's going to put me through if I don't beg him to save me.

Any medical doctor or ME can tell you physically how painful drowning is. For someone to claim the flood was justified is to justify torture not only on top of being mass genocide. And a very hypocritical thing for an "all loving" god to do if one is going to claim he is "all powerful" and "poofed" everything into existence. Why all the drama? It would seem to me that you would be compassionate about punishment instead of an act of revenge which is what the flood story depicts.

Serious question rev. When God created the animals, he saw that they were good. Man fell, no longer good. So why did he kill all the good animals along with the bad people? Why not make it a species specific apocalypse?
