What do modern Christians believe happened before the bible existed and before christ was born....I say this because, when I think of christianity, obviously it was a religion based on Christ, and there were so many religions existing before christianity.
So how do we expect other areas of the world to know of this christian god before his time, and before the time of his holy book?
I've honestly never heard this been brought up or talked about. Was just curious and wanted some others thoughts!
God revealed himself through his creation as attested to in the book of Romans Chap 1. Also, it seems that Adam would have orally handed down his knowledge through the family line. Abraham came from a pagan family and received direct revelation from God. From that point on the revelation was handed down from generation to generation. The pre-Christ believers anticipated the coming savior. Other parts of the world didn't know about him until the message was preached to them after Christ left the world.
Sorry but the bible is a fictional book - read genesis to prove it. TO claim that a god revealed himself - is simply a literary situation - nothing actually happened in reality because there is NO mention of this in the actual historical record of the time
THere are DOZENS of gods that can be proven to have actually existed on the earth - yours can't be. Why is that - yours just did not have that power!

You keep bringing it up over and over and over again! What about the 20 plus million other clergy in the world?
Just because you are a vile, evil little man... am I to expect ALL atheists to be such? Why no... that would be ridiculous, and stupid!
So wear that shoe, schmoe!
That photo has disturbed me deeply, especially after I realised that it seems genuine. A very very sad example of the human race.

So christian evangelism really puts our souls in danger? How perverse!

Mary McCarthy recalls worrying about the same problem in her autobiography Memories of a Catholic Girlhood . She didn't want her protestant grandfather to hear the good catholic news for fear he would not believe and therefore go to hell. In ignorance, he was safe.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

That's the trick of it though, the believer has to say it on less he be deemed "lukewarm" (Jesus threatens he will spit these out into hell). Once the unbeliever has heard it they are obliged to join either to put their freind/relatives mind at rest or their own.

That's the anecdote was after - thank you!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Pretty sneaky huh? You've all been told, so now you can't get away with it.
