Abortion is morally wrong

OK but even if you do not like that definition, which seems clear to me , the big questions still remain for our friend Heywood to answer:

Would he take away a woman's right to abort an unwanted baby?

If he thinks yes I would like him to justify why.
It's not immoral to eat meat, abort a fetus or love someone of the same sex...I think that about covers it

Why would I want to take away a woman's right to abort an unwanted baby? Killing babies is wrong.

Um, isn't that what you believe in? You're obviously against abortion , which means you must also be against women aborting unwanted fetuses. For a long time, at the start of pregnancy, it's not even conscious, let alone human, so what's the harm in stopping that? Getting abortion in the early stage is aborting a 'potential' baby, not an actual baby. You have no right to say people shouldn't be allowed to get abortions.

If it's wrong, why do you seem fine with letting women have their right to abort? Or is it the type of wrong that's not immoral but still not preferable?

Even if you grant that abortions are immoral, what is even more immoral is infringing on a persons bodily autonomy. So the question is, is it moral or immoral to choose the lesser of two evils?

I wondering how we Atheists feel about mothers aborting when they find out it's the wrong sex?
Would it be ok to abort if they knew it was going to be gay, the wrong colour or ugly?
Keep in mind that this type of decision would probably involve a male partner also.

And I'm only asking because this is where I get stuck. I'm not out to stir.

I'd never get between a woman and her crazy. Ultimately, if we start to design our children we will be facing the same issue in a more nuanced form. Choosing female Jill means that male Jack (if he ever were to be) has been aborted.

"We atheists" do not have collective thoughts. I personally feel the same as any other abortion. Not my fetus, not my uterus, not my business.

Why would we have a right to ask a woman what her reason is for having an abortion?

Bingo! And as one who does not have a uterus, I don't feel I have a dog in this fight. Leave women to make their own choices.

Unlike the moral warriors who get so worked up about abortion, I don't pretend to feel sentimental about zygotes or fetuses that don't directly share my genes.

On a side note, I also don't crusade to save the acorns because I don't believe they are really oak trees.
