That's Duquesne Hill. It's a funicular railway. The view at the top is glorious.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Cool. We've got one of those at the Royal Gorge. I was asking because I only know of two cog railways in the US. One here (Pike's Peak) and one somewhere in New England. I thought I had spotted a third.

We have several gorgeous places to hike in my area, but Virginia Kendall Ledges is my favorite. That's where I got the pictures from.

Taken from the back deck of my country place looking south last Christmas - if not for the fog and cloud cover, you could see Mt. Hood and the Cascade range on the left.

Fine fine I will share nicer things also.
This castle is super cool and is like 15 miles from. My house.
Ohio Caverns is also super close to my house (maybe a 20 minute drive if you're slow)
It's super cold down there and there are bats, but it's really awesome too.
Here's the Orr Mansion, it was part of the Underground Railroad. It's maybe 5 miles from my house.

Looking out my front door.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
