At first, progress was fitful. Concerns over the authenticity of ancient-DNA research fuelled schisms in the field and deep scepticism outside it. But this has faded, thanks to laboratory rigour that borders on paranoia and sequencing techniques that help researchers to identify and exclude contaminating modern DNA.

These advances have fostered an ancient-genomics boom. In the past year, researchers have unveiled the two oldest genomes on record: those of a horse that had been buried in Canadian permafrost for around 700,000 years 2 , and of a roughly 400,000-year-old human relative from a Spanish cavern 3 . A Neanderthal sequence every bit as complete and accurate as a contemporary human genome has been released 4 , as has the genome of a Siberian child connecting Native Americans to Europeans 5 .

Right, so if you know all this then you should have no problem going back to page five, reading my posts there where I respond to you and post sources that show that all of your claims are demonstrably wrong to such a degree that you've mislabelled basic concepts and said things don't exist when we have evidence that they do, and admit that you were wrong.

Or was the reason you stopped being an atheist that you decided honesty wasn't for you?

I see lots of lies and twists on reports about evolution.

They also like to make it so complicated so the average person will not understand and just believe because it sounds scientific.

Perhaps these are at you intellectual level:

Evolution is dead, there is more than enough proof of a intelligent designer, you just not looking in the right place.

Ridiculous.
There is no evidence for intelligent design. There is also no evidence for the designer. ID is nothing more than a rationalization parading as science in an effort to keep God out of the unemployment line. The fact that most Christians accept evolution as fact, even if they claim this is the mechanism by which God causes speciation, should give you pause for thought.

Considering the forum we're speaking in, and her aim to educate, it wouldn't be too far a logical leap to assume some creationist viewers who would read her posts, especially since by and large the atheist contingent here actually understands the subject. There's nothing wrong with crafting the content to the potential audience, especially given that the abiogenesis discussion is one that can be headed off at its inception with the evidence that, even if the creationist was right, their objections wouldn't matter.

Also please note: she was right to do so! The same Alexwenzel person nattering on here has posted a "odds of the first cell" quote mine in multiple threads.

Yeah I haven't been checking this thread for a while and I should've because you see the thing that I find odd is this.
I saw some weird mention of Darwin being a racists and I asked about it. And that's it. If you think that I am lying you can check it by yourself.

Because you see my words(the one in blue) ended up in your statement while your words(the ones in red) ended up in my reply.

Yeah about Darwin now that we are a boarding the subject. There is one thing that has been bothering me, and I was wondering if anyone can give me some info about that.

It is the law of entropy. The digression of the matter and energy in the universe to an ultimate state of inert uniformity. In other words, if you look at records there has only been extinctions of species. There has never been any new species recorded.

They have tried to prove evolution using millions of fruit flies, since early 1900. They haven't observed not even a little change of an enzyme. Their conclusion was that "fruit flies appear to be immune to evolution."

Same experiment has been conducted with bacterias that have a lifespan of 15 minutes through many many years. Again, no evolution was observed, despite the exposure to chemicals, radiation and etc.

DNA Sequencing has confirmed the tree of life without exception.
What some people argue as no proof of speciation has been proved 100% by categorising all species by their genetic fingerprints.
This fact is not negotiable. Arguing "facts" will always make one party look ignorant.
Why do it then? There's other more suited religious forums where people can deny evolution all day and pat each other on the back ....

I started thus thread for the cool factor. Evolution is cool! I never would have even bothered reading about all these Clovis people and Denisovan mystery people or well anything that I perceived to be contradictory to the Bible, because I thought I had a book straight from god that knew more than scientists. An inside track to truth, I thought. Turns out it was a bunch of air, and now I'm rediscovering science in a way.
