Of course I understand that most Muslims are ordinary people who, just like the rest of us, are simply trying to make sense of the world and do as little harm as possible.
However, whenever I hear the term Islam or Muslim in the news it is always* associated with violence, aggression, slaughter, misogyny etc. etc. just as whenever a news report starts with 'a Catholic Priest' it always seems to finish with child abuse, rape etc.
So I hope that you will forgive me if I refuse to sign up to your wicked ideology and live my life according to my own standards and principles. May I also suggest you put your clock forward, about 1400 years.
* I'd like to say invariably or often but alas, that simply isn't the case.
I think it's very silly to store info as legitimate coming from mainstream news sources like CNN, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, even Al Jazeera.
There's a consensus amongst many, including non Muslims that there's a purposeful smear campaign on these "media outlets " attempts to demonize Muslims. Why? Because it makes maintaining military bases easier and more acceptable for the populaces receiving this propaganda.
1. It makes it easier to forget more than 1 million Iraqi citizens have been killed
2. Easier to forget hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians killed in Afghanistan including thousand of children
3. Easier to forget low thousands families killed by drone attacks in Pakistan and Yemen
4. It makes it easier to forget the UK/US in past century has been an active imperialist/colonialist powers with coups sponsored all over the globe from Asia to Africa to South America
5. It makes it easier to forget the media is a mouthpiece of the western military complex.
6. Makes it also easier to forget what the NSA is doing and how liberties of Americans are being violated increasingly
7. Makes It easier to forget the Taliban was created with is help, bin laden was a CIA agent "orginally, or that UK instilled the Baathist regime in Iraq of saddam. Or that UK helped Saud family take power ( see treaty of Jeddah 1927)
8. Also easy to forget who's funding these Al Qaeda rebels in syria fighting the government ( UK, France, Saudi, Qatar, us)
9. all these things can be conveniently put aside if you just want to maintain the status who in your mind and maintain your own version of reality. But there are many who refuse to remain ignorant.

It's silly first of of all to have a " girlfriend " a relationship defined only by words where time is invested but nothing fruitful comes out of it.
There is a substitution to having a girlfriend in Islam. CAlled " nikah mutah"" or temporary marriage. Even the classi " permanent marriage" is technically temporary
As it can be ended. But with the nikah Mutah you can sign on a paper and the girl had to as well how long you wanna be in his marriage and can renew when you want. AND if a child is born the child has full rights as if t was the classical marriage type.
That's logical.
