RE: Religion's Treatment of Women
Lucifer, why don't you say what you really mean? "God said bitches be slaves to men. Bitches got it coming."

Because that is not what I really mean.

I've got to say this. Men are great. They are bigger (usually), stronger (usually) and prettier (usually- they don't need make up). When do you see a female heavy metal guitarist? or a racing driver ( or police traffic cop- the ones that chase the car thiefs)? We women are gentler (usually), more emotional (usually), love cooking, cleaning and raising the kids (usually), so that the man can go and bring back the food etc. we both compliment each other. I love men. (well my man) Big Grin

I don't think men are prettier at all. I don't see how you can compare the sexes in that sense. Women don't need makeup either, they just want it whether through worry that others won't think they're as pretty, or through vanity, but men have vanity too and express it in other ways. Whether they are prettier or not anyway. And men worry too but express it in other ways of course. There are some very beautiful women that certainly don't need makeup aswell but they wear it anyway. If wear is the right word?

I agree women don't need make up. I rarely wear it myself- horrible stuff. In my experience (maybe I'm biased) men usually have longer eyelashes and strong eyebrows etc. They naturally don't need enhancements. My son is far vainer than women I know (hair dryer, straightners, sprays etc). Men and women all share the same traits. I jest somewhat.

Well why on average (at least in my experience) do you think women wear makeup more often then men, if they don't need them and they are no vainer about that in particular? I think women look better with makeup because makeup is often a more feminine thing.
But men very often wear makeup in what across history has been considered more masculine situations for example, war makeup in war.

War make up makes you look scary surely. Makeup to enhance your features is very different. I used to wear make up every day. I'd wear eye liner to accentuate my eyes, mascara to make my eyelashes long and thick, blusher etc, etc. Make up can make you look stunning. I prefer 'natural' beauty, not the one that is smeared all over your pillowcase if you're lazy like me and don't take it off at night. Men and women are vain and men are catching up with women it seems. There's eyeliner for men now: guyliner? I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with the full pallet. I still think men are 'better'.

But war makeup is more scary but also more masculine. And I don't think its that men don't need more usual every day makeup. Its because I think usual everyday make up is more feminine and overall doesn't suit men as much

You're right, men don't suit everyday makeup the way women do. I'll say this but not to be big headed. I have been told I am naturally 'pretty', so I am fortunate that I don't need make up. When I wear it to it's full effect, I look very good (so I am told) but then you have the problem of maintaining this 'mask' everyday and then the worry of people seeing you without your mask, so I feel a lot freer and more content.

So I think its just that everyday makeup suits women better on average at least. Not that men are better looking. That's a matter of opinion. Although I think Leonardo would agree with you and I think he is the greatest genius that has ever lived. But I still think its a matter of opinion and I don't agree with him on that if thats indeed what he thought. After all its thought that Leonardo was gay, so that would perhaps influence him, whether consciously or unconsciously.
