My opinion is that when a woman is called a slut, she is treated like meat that has lost value. A man, on the other hand is often praised for his pickup skills. He certainly almost never loses value or gets treated like merchandise.

My experience, with this one, has been one of no difference at all. Women have overwhelmingly described to me how promiscuity confers a negative value in a man, and I have myself been negatively valued for perceived promiscuity.

"Certainly almost never"? That's a convoluted way to phrase something. Not quite as definite as "she is", eh?

I've noticed this trend amongst the younger people, men who bang every girl are now starting to be considered a kind of 'sluts' too, maybe not using the label slut but more like 'asshole, disrespectful, idiot'. Seems more equal to me, either everybody can be a slut or no one

Little lunch to enlighten your mind, I was observing a sociological phenomenon and explaining the real cause, not saying it should be like that, some things are very hard to change, considering even my most open minded female friends consider promiscuous sexual behaviour to justify calling calling a woman slut (and sometimes calling men sluts too)

In my country I haven't seen a lot of discrimination against women, but it depends on the location and education of people, even in the Netherlands or Sweden there might be discrimination, it's just less likely.

I live in the Netherlands. Sexism over here is - very - common. The people fighting it are well justified.

I'm not sure if you are arguing that these people should spend their efforts on fighting for rights for women who live in worse places, but if you are I have a question:

I have a friend who is in debt. It's not even completely his fault. Right now he has the power to help himself. He could of course chose to help someone else instead... Someone with even bigger debts even. What do I advise him to do?

I think feminism is something that has really clashed hard with the internet. Radical ideas always gain more attention, the awful and bizarre things are shown to the world while the reasonable and fair is ignored. All thats needed are a few genuine radical feminists with a few bizarre ideas and all the trolls fictions are believable.

Honestly, I stay away from feminism as a subject online for the most part. It usually becomes a toxic conversation. Its so easy for trolls to jump in and stir up the pot, its the type of emotion and passion filled subject that can be so explosive. Its the same with most topics but with things like racism or sexism a clusterfuck is always waiting on the horizon.
