Athiesm+ (noun) - a forum run by apparently self-important assholes that this atheist wants no fucking part of.

Well I bid them farewell. Boy what an oppressive atmosphere that is. Reminds me of soviet Russia. Oh well, there are many better things to do. Here is my see you later note:

Quote:Well thanks for replying Amore. But I think I've seen enough. I might look in again in another year to see if this place thaws out any. Enjoy whatever it is you guys enjoy doing here.

(The required approval for each posting is tiresome and adds to the Soviet feel. I wonder why everyone is so defensive.)

I don't see it going well for you. Besides subscribing to an unreasonable radical feminist philosophy, they also seem to be very strict about who they allow in their little group and what they allow to be said on their forum. I think they've even expanded that last rule to the point that they were talking about banning people based on what they say on other forums, so if you disagree with them here, you could get banned for that. Just thought you should be aware of that, not saying what you should do about it, though.

Personally, I can already tell you I'd have to create some kind of sock account or fake name or something if I was going to be in the group. I've aready criticized too many radical feminists in atheist/agnostic spaces. I'm pretty sure I'm on the shit list of at least one of the (former) bloggers from freethoughtblogs, seeing as how Natalie Reed and I got into it on a trans forum.

Well, it hardly matters. When I remembered them it struck me as unlikely that they were still going given how stifling that atmosphere is. I notice they didn't (at least yet) put up my farewell post. Probably too critical for their liking. But I don't really care. I doubt if my curiosity will get the better of me again where they're concerned. If they do read this they may officially kiss my ass.

Atheism+ are a bunch of dogmatic feminists that despise you if you don't take the same label they do.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

Haven't they learned from history that silencing dissenting voices only leads to your destruction in the long run?

If they disagree with people they should, as we do, allow those voices to be aired and then critiqued in the open. This is basic logic that we all know and understand. Wonder why they don't get it?

Whatever, had enough talking about them.

When asked to check your privilege, use your thumb to hold open your waistband a bit. Have a quick look down. With smug assurance, look her in the eye and say "Yep, still there. How's yours hanging?". Drives 'em nuts.
