It's as I pointed out in another thread: they've spent so much time trying to be religious and pious, they've forgotten how to be human.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

An excellent point and one which should be carved into stone above every pulpit and megachurch.
It's one I've really never heard any kind of satisfactory answer to. The fact that so many sincere Christian sects disagree so vehemently on so many things, yet still hold the same book to be "The Good Book", irritates me. The mental gymnastics and backpedaling and logic knots people do to reconcile the different ideas are even worse.

The Creation Science link in the story is to a satirist who is actually making fun of the Christians pronouncing on the eternal fate of Mr. Williams. Thre rest appear to be genuine.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Who cares what those assholes think. Most of them think just about everyone other than themselves is going to hell anyway. This isn't exactly new.

Quote:While many of the faithful express a faux sadness when reporting the news that Williams must be in hell, others seem full of glee with the prospect. For example, Creation Science Study has a blog entry up entitled “Robin Williams is in Hell!” The following is an excerpt from that blog:
"Greetings True Christians!
Did you know that Robin Williams is burning in Hell as we speak? That’s right boys and girls. Robin Williams is being tormented by Satan and the demons forever."
And, of course, the Westboro Baptist Church was happy to announce Williams is in hell.
If I were a xtian, I'd be seriously ashamed about sharing the planet with these heartless, hearse-chasing bastards right about now.
Well, these morons have no compunction about guilting you into "saving" your family because of imagery of them being tormented for missing out on the love of a god that would torture them in hell...oh wait.
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

So Poe's Law in action, throwing all the others into sharp relief.

Someone needs to parody this with "Hitler enjoying Heaven"

Had Hitler won the war there'd be statues of him all over Europe and the church would have made him a saint.

Some of the 'brothers' don't seem to understand final Judgement is in God's hands. A lot of those guys will be supprized and disappointed on that final day.
