Why is God fearing a good thing?

Not even a lick of logic in the phrase when it's twisted in such a way that it is suppose to be seen as a good thing.

As far as I know, in most contexts it is usually used to mean respect rather than being afraid of God

I guess I'll just add that to the list of mistakes. Proper word usage is important when trying to convey meaning. Given the way he acted in the first two thirds of the book, no one should be surprised if people think fearing god means being afraid of him.

Here's a question. If your unsure about God then how can you say your opinion of God is greater than what is written in the bible?

If your picture of God is different than what is in the bible then what makes you think your version is correct?

The only picture of God I ever see is this one.



I don't give a fuck what the Bible says about anything, except when it contradicts what you insist is true, like the idea that you're not going straight to hell when you die.
