To atone, maybe Rice could be eaten by Michael Vick's rottweilers and pitbulls ??

What is the fascination?
What does this guy beating his wife have anything to do with the nfl?
He's a monster got it. Why not turn him over to the law and let them deal with it? Why does the nfl feel the need to over react? It's bad enough this woman is married to a monster now she is married to a broke monster. Maybe for her a 40 million dollar contract her husband had was grounds to work on the marriage. Does anyone care about what she wants?
Really? What does a marquee player in the NFL, on one of the NFL's major market teams, who represents the NFL, have to do with the NFL?
The NFL has a personal conduct policy. They take action to protect their image, because the NFL is a multi-billion dollar business. They suspend people for a bevy of things, regardless of the legal action taken---so long as the player's personal conduct is detrimental to the league. Case in point: Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault, but never charged by the police. He served a 4 game suspension. The NFL will protect its image. So Ray Rice punching his fiance unconscious has a lot to do with the NFL.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

The macho attitude that fuels many domestic violence cases is one of those fronts, and the NFL is eager to polish its brand as much as it has to, to keep that money flowing. There is a point to be made about their attempt to expand their initial punishment in light of their own new policies. The new policy regarding domestic violence says up to six games for a first offense, and a lifetime ban for a second one. Rice got a two-game ban before the policy is in place, which has been upgraded to an indefinite suspension now. They're doing it for PR purposes, but Rice could make things very uncomfortable if he decides to get a lawyer and sue the league. Drich Wrote:He's a monster got it. Does anyone care about what she wants?Eh, if Rice mismanages his money he'll be broke no matter how much he made, and if he managed his money wisely he'll be wealthy no matter how this shakes out. I think that for his wife the issue is less about money and more about whether this is a pattern of behavior that is likely to continue. The Ravens and the NFL didn't seem to care too much about what she wanted. At a press conference she stated "I do deeply regret the role that I played in the incident that night," which seems odd in light of what the video shows. I get the impression that she was pressured into playing along with the idea that she somehow shared the blame for being turned into a punching bag by an angry boyfriend. The Ravens actually tweeted her statement, a message they finally deleted yesterday when it become obvious that the only 'role' she 'played' was victim. All the same, I don't see how it would be in her interests for the league to decide not to further punish Rice so that she could enjoy a slightly more opulent lifestyle with her occasional beatings.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

i don't get why people should be punished professionally for shit that goes on in their personal lives
i mean if he hit the bitch where he actually worked then okay fair enough but for all you know she was all up in his grill for years poking holes in the condoms and whatever when i see a girl get hit by a guy on the street i ignore it if you get involved in that shit alone, both of them will end up turning on you because it is between them 99% of the time she isn't hollerin at anyone for help she'll wake up in the morning and realise she did worse shit to provoke him and probably deserved it (September 9, 2014 at 6:10 am)naimless Wrote: i don't get why people should be punished professionally for shit that goes on in their personal lives Never hit a woman.....
