WWIII, depending on just who lines up against who, will likely involve the whole weapons enchilada, nukes, chemical, and biological, to go along with drones, carpet bombing, and cities targeted for destruction. Many of these weapons, based as they are on mobile and stealth platforms, (subs mostly - but stealthy ships and aircraft as well) can reach anywhere on the planet, including North America. WWIII will see American cities burned to the ground as well as those of our enemies. Casualties will be counted in the hundreds of millions, and it is likely that human civilization, assuming it survives at all, will take generations to recover.

The countries that supply them with the military hardware are the real problems. If they didn't sell them arms they wouldn't have too much to fight with. Then throw in the various folks who supply them with money
and you have a real mess on your hands. Eliminate those groups and and it'll be a lot easier to take out the terrorists. Since the dummies in the CIA are always supplying bad guys with guns and money it might be a good idea to start with them.

Okay, you vastly overestimate the jihadist capabilities at conventional warfare. They don't have nearly the ability of the Americans let alone the west. Even though american power is waning, she can still throw massive industrial power into any conflict that properly motivates her people. Now industrial power is one of the major keys to wining a conventional war. Its how the allies beat the Germans with inferior guns and tanks, despite the Germans fielding brilliant tacticians and achieving what was thought to be impossible in mere months. The simple truth was american could built 50 m4 Sherman's for every tiger tank. Now these jihadists do not close the industrial power of pre ww2 Germany or they're fucking legendary engineering and tactical abilities. Give america a Bogey man like jihadist and she is weak because she is unlike other past powers in her shear brutality ( not to say they haven't been brutal) but give her a enemy to go toe to toe with and america has prove that she is a fucking monster.

The country that supplied their most fancy arms is the United States. We gave the humvees, armored personnel carriers, and the fabled since first gulf war, allegedly invincible, although in reality often blown up, M-1A1 main battle tank. We gave these to them out of the inventory of the US army through the trusty intermediary of the Iraqi army that we trained and whose skills in weapon transfer to inferior opponent under duress surpasses even those of the Italian army of WWII.

As to the majority of their meat and potato arms like rifles and anti-tank missiles, we didn't supply them out of our own inventory, but we encouraged others to when Hillary Clinton thought Assad was the worst thing there could possibly be in that part of the world.
