Tell me why your faith is less delusional than faith in Zeus, or Ahura Mazda, or the Great Spirit.

Neat rhetoric. But I will ask you again: what makes your faith one whit different than that of a Buddhist, or Rasta, or Hindu, or ...?

Tell us why it comports more closely with reality. Be specific.

Or, alternatively, admit that you cannot.

I'm bored of answering that same old question. Every new atheist must think it's original.

What about Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny? What about the dragon in your garage? What about the chocolate tea pot? You are so very unoriginal.

If you don't know the difference between faiths then perhaps you should go do some study. You're not asking me because you want to know.

This thread is your clue. Christianity is unique amongst religions in bridging the gap between God and human. Other faiths have humans serving God, but Christianity has God serving humans. We are made in his image. Emulation lifts us up. Christianity is one evolutionary step ahead of every other faith for this reason.

That's not saying that all religious endeavour isn't an expression of the same thing. It is. There's something valuable in all of them. Including atheist beliefs.
I'm interested in them all. I'm also convinced of my own beliefs. I came to them rationally, and so can do no other, but to follow my best understanding.

Sounds like you are the one who needs to do more studying.

Every religion claims to "bridge the gap" between humans and their "god-equivalent", i.e. whatever their ultimate ideal may be - the nature, enlightenment, nirvana etc. Neither is Christianity unique in having this higher power be of service to man. Witches have their magic and Hindus have their avatars. All faiths teach you to "emulate" their ideal beings. That puts Christianity at the same level with every other religion.

You have a better reason for picking Christianity than misconceptions about other faiths?

First off, Christianity is not unique in bridging a gap between god and man. That is stupid on so many levels. God does not serve mankind in christianity, citation needed! Sending his son to kill himself for forgiveness of his own demands is not serving mankind. Forgiveness is not servitude anyway.

Quote:I'm also convinced of my own beliefs. I came to them rationally,

Ignoring archeology that says the bible story didn't happen, (exodus, etc)
ignoring geology that says the bible story didn't happen. (Flood, etc)
ignoring genetics that says the bible story didn't happen, (DNA Trail)
ignoring biology that says the bible story didn't happen, (evolution)
ignoring physics that says the bible story didn't happen, (sun stopped for hr)
ignoring astronomy that says the bible story didn't happen, (star of Bethleham)
Ignoring Paleobiology that says the bible story didn't happen, (dino's)
Ignoring modern medicine that says the bible stories didn't happen, (medical miracles)
Ignoring logic that says the bible story didn't happen, (biblical contradictions)
Ignoring common sense that you can't see or hear god in the same way that other's in the bible story can, does NOT mean that you came to the decision "RATIONALLY" to become a christian. It means you have your head in the sand and your fingers in your ears and you love self-delusion.

Take a closer look gen. Those faiths/ practises don't let you overcome your flaws.

Hey Brake. I didn't ignore any of those things. It seems that you don't understand my faith (mainstream Christianity). Got anything else?
