Non-literalists exist, most are just as afraid as the ex-Muslims (it also depends on the country)
Edit: I take that back, ex-Muslims are more afraid
Actually, the guy who runs ISIS has a PhD in Islamic studies, so I guess it is safe to say ISIS is orthodox Islam. Just don't tell the Moderate Muslims. It tends to make them upset and then they set fire to the place. (Don't make any cartoons about it either.)

He does make sense with this issue, on the other hand though; he does fail to bring up that America is a major factor on why this is happening. We have been influencing the middle east since F.D.R and we as a nation should really back out of the middle east entirely.

Furnish is a conservative Christian with a PhD in Islamic history. I tend not to listen to people who do the "My religion is better than your religion" thing. And then there's the Newsmax thing. 
Arguably, the religious nuts of the State who advocate on behalf of Western imperialism are more dangerous than the Islamists whom they use as justification.
