Would that make you feel guilty
If that stuff happend to one you knew closeby. I just watched a christian cartoon of a stubborn guy. Although i know atheism is not about hating god, but in this case. Would that leave a bad conscious if that stuff happend
There should be a gif or emoticon depicting confused disgust. That would represent my feelings exactly.

Exactly. It's not like we go to atheist hell for saying the words...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Would that make you feel guilty No, but I'd be just -that- much closer to breaking the curse and regaining my true form.

I am. Just look at the archeological evidence of israels history.

I mean, this example just goes to show that it's extremely hard to differentiate between strong religious beliefs and mental illness. I don't say that to be cruel, I say it out of concern. If someone is going to drown themselves if I don't say certain words, they are insane. Whether or not they truly believe there is a good reason for it is irrelevant. The more religious beliefs you have, the more irrationally you are likely to act. This makes it really difficult for those with genuine mental health problems to be picked out.
Someone pulls out a gun and shoots their kid because god told them to do it. He really, really thinks god told him to do it. Maybe god did tell him to do it.
Is he insane? Or is he spiritually righteous? I think the best you could hope for is both.
When I listen to what some religious people say, how they describe things that actually supposedly happened and they witnessed them, it sounds to me exactly like a mentally deluded person. Again, not trying to be cruel, but I don't think I could tell the difference.

Yeah. Believing as true things that are not, in all probability, true. Things that there is no rational justification to believe are really true. I guess that's exactly what deluded is.
Fucking with someone's mind and sense of reality from an early age is a good way for them to end up deluded.

Well atleast the abrahamic ones, in that sense i am an atheist. I haven't researched the other religions to say the least. The israelites were originally canaanites in historical terms always in the land of israel from the start and never were invaded by Joshua, to put it frankly "Genesis to Joshua" is all myths and stories. While from "Philistines and upwards" is historical with a few errors. For example. Monotheism is actually not old. It was started after 600 bc, after the babylonian exile. Due to findings of no polytheistic gods after that period of time when they got granted to rebuild Jerusalem, so thats when the complete Torah was done.
You can find that in the documentary called "NOVA - Bible's buried secrets" and "Old israel history" on wikipedia. In the category of archeological evidence. Its pretty fascinating.
Forgive me for going off topic a little bit

No I wouldn't feel guilty if someone killed themself over me being atheist. except maybe that I should have gotten them mental help at a hospital or something. That's an odd question. You'd think it would make smeone less likely to convert to religion, after seeing some mentally disturbed person do that.
