Obamacare written to deceive the public.

1) Private vs public sector.
2) People will do it naturally without government's help.

Quote:Obamacare should have never been passed. Instead a bill should have been passed that actually resulted in the production of Healthcare. Instead of spending billions of dollars on health insurance, the government should have spent billions of dollars building hospitals, and clinics to treat....and schools train healthcare providers.

You think that buildings and doctors are what drive healthcare? That is plainly wrong. Consumers drive every resource including healthcare. All the fancy buildings and trained staff mean jack shit if no one participates in it. You need consumers before you can do anything. Buildings and healthcare providers come secondary.

If there are no consumers wanting health care and not getting it.....what was the point of Obamacare anyways?

There are plenty of consumers and they are getting it. The lack of doctors just mean they're getting slower than in previous years.

Probably because it is immensely more difficult to train doctors.

What about state medical schools. Doesn't the existence of state medical schools show the state is capable of building schools and training students to be doctors?

This claim that the state is simply incapable of training up doctors is not only silly but demonstrably false.

The state can build you whatever you like, comrade. :winks:
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yes and I would rather have them build hospitals and clinics than give billions away to insurance company fat cats.

Amen. While they're at it they can build us houses, grow our food, produce our energy, and manufacturer our commodities (all for the same reason you mentioned above). By "they" I mean of course us....somebody actually has to do all of the things "the state" does, obvs.

Care to join me in singing "The Internationale"?

What i am proposing is different than socialism or communism because the state would not be in control of all of health care production nor would they be trying to manage the health care economy. They would simply be producing some additional health care in the same way they produce additional transit by building buses and subway systems.

Health care can be one of those things were a private market thrives along side the publicly provided services. Private schools thrive along side publicly provided ones so why can't private hospitals thrive along side public ones?

Meh, if the state is offering the service then there's no reason not to avail yourself of that service. Sometimes people say "ah, but quality of service" - but that is a tacit approval of the notion that it's okay for the state to offer shitty service. I disagree. If you want a better quality of service you remind the state that handing out cars that catch fire on impact isn't okay just because they're being handed out. If it;s your intention that we should only provide healthcare, for example, to those that can't afford it...we already do, so no change there. This has been my position in pretty much all of our conversations about this stuff. You offer alternatives that are indistinguishable from what we already do, as though you weren't aware that this is what we already do...and if that's the case.....are you really qualified to comment?
