Seriously if you cannot see the real problem please become a republican and become a believer and buy Haywood's economic arguments.
This is NOT about rights, this is about how people DODGE problems by making excuses to not fix problems. Same corporate crap simply another business.

So...I'm aksing you, how would you fix "the problems", and what are "the problems"? Again, nobody has even mentioned 'rights' but you.

Okay...so....yeah?
I, personally, don't know how to fix stupid...and I didn't realize that I would be required to offer a solution to that when I entered into this conversation - nor would I require you to have a solution. If you do, by all means...I'm all ears.

Repeal this law, for starters.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protection_...n_Arms_Act
Quote:The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was passed by the U.S. Senate on July 29, 2005, by a vote of 65-31. On October 20, 2005, it was passed by the House of Representatives 283 in favor and 144 opposed. It was signed into law on October 26, 2005, by President George W. Bush and became Public Law 109-92. The National Rifle Association thanked President Bush for signing the Act, for which it had lobbied, describing it as, "...the most significant piece of pro-gun legislation in twenty years into law."[1]
I can imagine the checks flying out of the NRA offices to get this monstrosity enacted.

So long as we'll also be holding Toyota accountable when their vehicles are used as getaway cars - agreed Min.
from the wiki-
Quote:In the years before passage of the act, victims of firearms violence in the United States had successfully sued manufacturers and dealers for negligence on the grounds that they should have foreseen that their products would be diverted to criminal use.[2] The purpose of the act is to prevent firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable for negligence when crimes have been committed with their products. However, both manufacturers and dealers can still be held liable for damages resulting from defective products, breach of contract, criminal misconduct, and other actions for which they are directly responsible in much the same manner that any U.S. based manufacturer of consumer products (i.e. automobiles, appliances, power tools, etc.) are held responsible.
I mean...that sounds pretty legit, and though I'm not a big fan of the NRA or even the pro-gun lobby..even the devil has his day.

Toyotas are not designed solely to kill people.... although it seems like Chevy's are.

Neither are guns. Though it seems like glocks are.

Guns are designed to fire bullets. It is the one thing they do well. They make inefficient hammers and are too expensive for paperweights.

Bullcrap,
No, just like theists arguments and 1% arguments, it is about "I like the way things are and any criticism to such is wrong".
There is no historonics on my part. This is about money. It is the elephant in the room. The people who have it are obstructing problem solving. Instead they could use it to problem solve. They don't want to do that anymore than EXXON wants to face they should switch to renewable resources. Gun makers are making too much money and do not care about the flooded market they create.
In terms of evolutionary psychology no matter what subject humans are arguing over it amounts to pattern seeking. Our flawed perceptions in doing such will lead us to cling to what we think works for us. The problem with that is that it far too often creates a bubble without regards to what is happening outside that bubble.
This is about CLIMATE and lack of pragmatism. Money equals power, be that money controlled by a religion, or a political party, OR a business (no matter what business).
You are getting stuck just like an apologist with a holy book. I am talking about CLIMATE and how marketing affects the way we think about everything in life.
So if people are agreeing with me that it is NOT about rights, then there is no excuse to defend the gun makers. Just like other rich companies, they do not have to go away, but they also do not get to control the conversation.
