For those of you that missed the point, this thread is a tongue in check response to the common question of why should atheists be moral.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,

An admirable interpretation - but not, in any way, the official "christian line" on the matter. Your interpretation still labours under those who "sincerely desire forgiveness" - perhaps even make meaningful change...but simply do not deserve forgiveness, those who cannot make enough change to compensate. I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult for you to imagine such a person (or find an example)...but I think it will be difficult for you to explain why they will not be granted forgiveness...if the bar is set so damned low as to really wanting it...super duper bad....even though it's pretty easy to explain why they don't deserve it (or indeed..as it's often said, why none of us deserve it).

The whole thing is a can of compartmentalized worms, imo.

(Your comments on a true christian, or what sorrow or repentance may exist in a person...btw... are garbage - I think you know that. Do you not continue to "sin" and yet feel sorrow?)

they can call it gods morals but we kinda grew morals when evolving. they can be a dick an asshole murder people kill themselves by taking out others with them. and jesus forgives them in the end. Its that logical way of thinking that is harmful.

Ugly, but not quite as ugly as suggested in the video. They will certainly house and feed married gays. They just won't house them together.

And a non-Christian can lead a sinful life then repent on his deathbed and be saved, depending on which denomination you follow. But a wealthy young man who impresses the Christ with his attitude and actions can be denied heaven for the crime of not making himself destitute. Seems to me that "being a good Christian" is a bit of a crapshoot. God doesn't seem very fair, to be honest.

It's worse than that. The rich young man must make himself destitute by way of a sizable endowment to the church.
