And THAT is why science and religion are incompatible. Dogma always has been and will always will be chosen over contradicting evidence by the superstitious.
A scientist can show you tangible, objective evidence that supports a particular conclusion. This conclusion completely contradicts what is contained in a "holy book". The "holy book" has no evidence to support its contentions (other than its own proclamation that it is "the word of God"). And it is absolutely stunning how many otherwise intelligent, reasonable people will disregard the evidence before them and embrace an ancient book of unknown authorship.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
