RE: Raiders of the lost tax break.
Really ehat I am saying is that you are complaining that you are glad no tax money goes toeards this ark, when according to NASA it cost around $450 million per launch.
Now I wonder where they get this money from.

It's not like we're against taxes, in case that confuses you
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

You think a for-profit mock ark and space exploration are in the same category, C4?
(NASA's budget, btw...miniscule. If all of our agencies did as much with so little there likely -would- be fewer problems in the world.)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

according to a 2012 data sample .5% of the us national budget goes to nasa they also employ 19,000 people in house (actual nasa employees) and contract around 60,000 other workers a year.

Fractions of a percent fit my definition of miniscule (and take a look on the return, btw...impressive list of tech we use everyday that got it's start at NASA).

I personally feel that a lot of the space exploration stuff is more to do with just wanting to do it, with any benefits that are being sought a secondary rationalization.

But still, insulting another organisation does not validate your own.

Its called the two cocks fallacy.

We do it because we want to, sure, but we also do it because it's research - and we do expect something out of it. They don't just send up whatever crosses the mind of an intern. It's a big to-do.
(they also use cheaper platforms, when an experiment can be accomplished by, say, a balloon..or a twin engine prop.)

NASA does research that helps us learn more about the universe. It's a worthwhile place to spend money. If god wants us to learn about the ark, he can always make it rain gold from the sky.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
