Damned Christians
RE: Damned Christians
Christian pastor running for Colorado House seat thinks women’s pants are of the devil

“Corey has preached from the Bible what he believes, his interpretation and what the Bible says about a woman dressing modestly, and he believes that in today’s day and age, pants on a woman sometimes can show a woman’s body immodestly,” he said. “That’s why he’s taught it’s proper, he believes, for a woman to wear a dress or modest culottes.”

As evidenced by his campaign website, Corey Seulan also takes strict stances against women’s reproductive rights and LGBT rights.

“God’s Word is very clear that marriage is the holy union between one man and one woman,” the website states. “Our society is aiming at tearing down the traditional family unit and God’s plan for families. Let’s not let wickedness and perversion prevail. God’s ways are always best.”

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Did pants as we know them exist 2000 years ago in Jerusalem?

Just another conservative arsehole trying to control women.

I like my jeans. Anyone who has a problem with that can fuck off!

Would you believe me if I told you this is photo was taken inside the cathedral?

I mean is it just me or is Christian clergy becoming desperate in drawing Christians in churches in order to listen to their boring and bigoted speeches? Even fear of Hell doesn't work anymore.

What was really fun was Pet Blessing Day.  Brings your cats, dogs, fish, iguanas and so on to Mass to have them blessed.

It smelled so bad you could feel it in your bones.

I'm fairly certain Jesus is depicted as wearing, what we could modernly term, a dress. I really do hate how people feel obligated to dress up for Church. I love wearing my cargo shorts and flip flops regularly.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

What is it about Stephen Hawking that his death brings so much joy to many Christians?

I'm fairly good with x-tians these days, I don't bother them and they barely bother me.
But when I see one talking about a deceased person who they believe is suffering for all eternity in a fiery pit, and they've got that little smile on their face like they enjoy the idea of it, I could just smack their little fucking heads in.

No way!

Quote:A South Carolina man who founded one of the nation's biggest conversion therapy ministries has something to say: he's gay.

The Post and Courier reports Hope for Wholeness founder McKrae Game came out of the closet this summer, nearly two years after he was fired from the faith-based conversion therapy program. He's now trying to come to terms with the harm he inflicted when he was advocating for religious efforts to change a person's sexuality.

An anti-gay christian bigot turns out to be gay?

I bet no-one saw that coming.

This has to be a unique scenario, right?

Oh no! Christianity is just a money scam like Scientology and not about souls going to another planet. Who would have guessed?

Quote:‘Someone’s Gotta Tell the Freakin’ Truth’: Jerry Falwell’s Aides Break Their Silence

More than two dozen current and former Liberty University officials describe a culture of fear and self-dealing at the largest Christian college in the world.

In interviews over the past eight months, they depicted how Falwell and his wife, Becki, consolidated power at Liberty University and how Falwell presides over a culture of self-dealing, directing university resources into projects and real estate deals in which his friends and family have stood to make personal financial gains. Among the previously unreported revelations are Falwell’s decision to hire his son Trey’s company to manage a shopping center owned by the university, Falwell’s advocacy for loans given by the university to his friends, and Falwell’s awarding university contracts to businesses owned by his friends.

“We’re not a school; we’re a real estate hedge fund,” said a senior university official with inside knowledge of Liberty’s finances. “We’re not educating; we’re buying real estate every year and taking students’ money to do it.”
