Sure is, it's like atheism: utterly simple, ginormously misunderstood. People seem to think that only these weird guys in white coats do "science" in some underground secret conspiracy lab. I think it's started to get a negative association with some groups (reality deniers).

Exactly. We use the scientific method every day without actually calling it that.
Ever baked a cake? You're doing science.
Ever tried to work out where you left your keys? You're doing science.
Ever planned a journey? You're doing science.
If someone invented a better method for investigating reality, guess what we would have to use to determine its validity?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Nuh uh!
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral.

I am constantly dumbstruck by this idea some people keep saying that there are other ways to find out truth than science. If they worked, they would be science! It's not like there's some uber-science out there.
Is there? :o

They're just talking about the "truth" of philosophical concepts. Claiming it can't answer the "most important things in life", which are subjective things like the meaning of life and such.

Some might say that mathematical truths, and if there is such a thing, moral truths, are examples of truth that science cannot discover.
