The Pope was was trying to walk the line. But that really is no different than say if a wife says "fuck you deadbeat asshole of husband" that gives him the right to beat the shit out of her.

If you hit someone for picking on your mother, you are still mentally in grade school. When you are an adult you either say "That wasn't nice" or you say "fuck you" back, or you walk away.

It is vile, the Pope is really showing he is more concerned with his own power than civility.

No, I do not know how many times I or anyone else here has said, we can and do go after each other ourselves. "Atheist" is a position on one claim. It is nothing more than that. It is not a moral code, political party, religion or loyalty oath.

It depends what specific topic anyone is addressing ON ANY TOPIC as to issue of credibility. If one presents evidence for their claims, it would make sense to adapt that position. But if you think that just because atheists share the same label that means we are a gang you are flat out wrong.

You really need to get over your false persecution complex.
