I think he's saying that the Christian claim is that God has infinite resources, so doing something about the world's ills would be less than trivial for such a being.

Most Christians that I have met would consider this death a tragedy and that the little girl's death was preventable. Luckily, most of my friends outside of this forum are Christians or I would leave this conversation believing that most religious people are crazy

Yeah. The poor little girl died in peace according to her wishes and is a peace now. Shameless.

Yes, the most important word being died. She didn't want to die. But now she's dead. So taking into account those only facts, the 'treatment' her parents chose for her failed miserably, the consequences being the worst they could possible be.

You don't know either way what happens after we die, only that we die. The mutually exclusive nature of this story means we'll never know what happened if she'd had medical intervention, but I can say right now 100% that the odds of her improving were greater than if she/ her parents had done nothing at all, which is of course what happened.

Almost any time I read his posts, I am struck by how horribly cruel and immoral he sounds. I hope he keeps it up because it shines a spotlight on just how morally bankrupt his religion is.

That word you're using, 'opinion'. I dont think it means what you think it does. She had a good chance of life, of which she didn't avail herself, with the collusion of her parents. She opted out of what medical science had to offer in favor of alternative treatment, which, predictably, failed. Those are the facts of the case.

Now you may say she might have died anyway, which is true, but going down fighting for your future is not the same thing as throwing it away.

So, are the christians in this thread really going to persist with this claim that the girl wished to die to be with Jesus sooner, despite the fact that it's established in the first sentence of the linked article that she didn't stop treatment, she just switched to a different, unproven type of treatment she thought would heal her more effectively?

I mean, at this point, doing that would literally be a lie, right? What's the deal, christians?
