It sounds like I'm overexaggerating but I feel like if this sort of thing - deliberately sabotaging my life by throwing in needless stumbling blocks - serves no purpose. In fact it's cruel. I think fate is dark.
This all sounds faintly fancy-drinkish....but with more pathos.

I was thinking this very thing. Nuanced fancy drink.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

The characters have morphed a bit. "Mom" is now "God". The drink/crab toast/whatever are now TV shows.
But with less of a juvenile whiny tone and more of an adult whiny tone. The older sister has the helm?
BTW, OP, AFAIK, torrents are pretty dangerous from a legal standpoint, at least in the US. Usenet/nzbds is much safer as it is not illegal to download content, but it is definitely illegal to upload it, which is what every torrent is doing, like it or not.
Sure, the chance of getting busted is low, but don't think for a minute, records aren't being kept of every IP uploading content. Know the IP and time/date, know the household.

"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.
Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.
Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

If there was a God, I can't help but think those constantly bugging the almighty for stupid inconsequential bullshit are the same people found at the top of the impending accidents list.

OK, I was always kinda on the fence about religion, didn't really think about it much. I think that's normal, you know, you don't think about it much as a kid when question it naturally as an adult.
My dilemma sounds silly but it seriously got me thinking. Before you read this you have to know I REALLY love my TV shows. I don't interact with other people much, live alone and just having my favourite stuff like Oprah on series link (I found out from reruns there were somehow I hadn't seen?). So basically my favourite stories, TV or movies, are my life.
I have a friend called Patrick (yes, a male friend, but we are taking it slow - first base is enough for now!) who I really like. He likes TV shows like me. I wanted him to watch Torchwood, this UK TV show about underground superheroes that are really normal human beings just saving the world from alien encounters. I love it so much and wanted to share the experience of watching with him.
Three times now we've tried to get it to play on his TV but each time it never works. Its always for weird reasons, too, like abnormal things... his building is brand-new but they don't have bluetooth or wifi to transfer files? (They're not that huge. They are .avis btw) So there was no network connection to transfer them across. Then, it turned out ALL THREE of his USB ports had stopped working, so it was pointless using my memory stick to get the Torchwood episodes. Not only that... but one of the ports only stopped working last night....
Then he tried downloading it and it's not working. It's really depressing. It's been at 4% on urtorrent now for like 5 hours. I can tell it's destined that Patrick isn't going to see this show because this messed-up stuff keeps happening and he's not too keen to watch it anyway, it's more like I'm pushing him, because Torchwood means so much to me and he would love the message from the show (that humans love their children). It's not a bad message to send, so why can't we get it to work on his TV?
It sounds like I'm overexaggerating but I feel like if this sort of thing - deliberately sabotaging my life by throwing in needless stumbling blocks - serves no purpose. In fact it's cruel. I think fate is dark.
If I may ask who gave you those ideas about God. I'm not saying He's not doing that, I can't know at this point and probably never. I'm just curious as to why you would blame God for problems that come up in electronics all the time.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Because God/Jesus/Ghost is just the sort of fuckface who would screw around with somebody's USB ports to mess up their sex life. He gets off on it. For example:

Punch cards? We would have killed for punch cards.
