I have no shame in saying I'm a trekkie. Watched every episode, and still Spock was my favorite character.

Same here. For me the original cast is still by far the best cast in history of Star Trek. All subsequent casts Have never managed to be much more than a sorry combination of cliches particular to the era the show was shot in, and a cynical effort to milk the original cast.

The franchise went on too long many years ago. The original was the best. The others should have had different names.

I have the minority opinion of those in my generation. I preferred The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine to the original series. I wasn't so fond of Voyager though and I thought Enterprise was a total wreck.

Sad news for sure. I was never a Star Trek fan, but this is sad for me. There are few more iconic personalities.

Guess this means it's too late to ask for his autographThinking

I think I preferred TNG over the origins series, but the original series has a special place in every Trekkie's heart regardless because of what it created.

I knew he'd checked into the hospital a few days ago, but I still hasn't received this news.
Sad
It was to be expected, but it's still sad to see an icon go.
We shall never forget you Leonard.

Hard to believe. Leonard Nimoy, gone. I grew up watching Star Trek. I remember when the series first appeared on television, (the original series with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy)
