The Jesus Freaks Will Hate This

RE: The Jesus Freaks Will Hate This
And where in the article I linked does it say that it had to be reversed by medical personnel?

Besides do you really think that the return of the pulse wasn't caused by the medical personnel's attempts?

In what world is having no pulse for 45 minutes not dead? please enlighten us on the proper procedure of declaring someone dead doctor.

Well, I'm not a doctor, but I do know that what constitutes "death" isn't how long your pulse has stopped. Death is when life is no longer possible, and there does come a point where the cellular processes in the body no longer function and at the moment, life is not possible. Someone who is pronounced to be "dead" before life can officially be ruled out, is not dead, they are prematurely announced dead. With this woman, her pulse may have stopped for 45 minutes, but clearly, she wasn't dead. Here's a video that may change your understanding for what it means to be "dead".

Are you saying that during the modern age of medicine, Jesus' pulse had stopped for 45 minutes and then he got up, or are you saying that during a time when people used to slaughter cows to change the weather, that he was dead for 3 days and then magically floated away into the clouds? Because...those are the same. Clap

Actually you're wrong

Quote:When the heartbeat stops, a person is suffering clinical death - by definition.

Also there the fact that the woman suffered no brain damage after having no oxygen supplied to the brain for 45 minutes.
Quote:Cases of total oxygen deprivation are termed "anoxia", which can be hypoxic in origin (reduced oxygen availability) or ischemic in origin (oxygen deprivation due to a disruption in blood flow). Brain injury as a result of oxygen deprivation either due to hypoxic or anoxic mechanisms are generally termed hypoxic/anoxic injuries (HAI).

Quote:But with no sign of life, they called her family into the operation room to declare her death.

'I was dead,' she said. 'My husband tells me, "You were gray. You were cold as ice, and you were dead. You had no color in your lips".'

I like that you're trying to contradict the testimony of the Doctors despite the fact of you having no medical expertise and having not been there.

So buggy accepts without question all of the ridiculous shit in the bible like the flood, talking snakes and donkeys, the world being repopulated twice from one incestuous family.
Jewish zombies walking around Jerusalem and all of the other blatantly idiotic crap in the bible.
But goes into a tizzy over the utterly mundane and reasonable notion that jesus might have fucked a woman.
Hmmmm.

Lets just cut to the chase here...Are you saying that you believe that this woman came back from the dead? Yes or no...

Huggy, funny you should mention it...

Quote:Clinical death is simply when a person has stopped breathing. This results in oxygen not entering the body and the organs, especially the brain, which affects brain function. If this condition is not quickly corrected, then biological death will occur which is when the brain has been deprived of blood and oxygen long enough and the cells begin to die.

Yes

Using your definition of death then, there's nothing impressive about that. You've accepted a definition of death that permits life. So, there's nothing really to discuss unless you create a definition of death that makes spontaneous vitality something to awe over. Also, this is worth a look. Not that you will care...

"Despite its frequent use, the term "clinical death" doesn't actually have a consistent meaning, said Dr. James Bernat, a neurologist at Dartmouth College's Geisel School of Medicine in New Hampshire. In most hospitals, the doctor in charge of a patient's care makes the death determination, and there aren't universal guidelines for when to make that call, he said."

This.

...and I didn't read through your entire post, and this has nothing to do with coming back from the dead but,

That woman has science to thank for her life. If she was alone in her bedroom with nothing but the delusional prayers of her family members, there wouldn't be a single definition of death that she wouldn't have qualified for.

My wife is a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I hear stories all the time about how ignorantly obtuse Christians praise Jesus after a team of humans bring their 4 oz fetus of a baby back to life using state of the art human technology. If God were real, those babies, that woman, and all other modern people would die the same terrible deaths that God apparently intended for every other generation. Really...pull your head out of your ass.
