At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Even if you send him back to the beginning of the universe, it will only get you as far as deism. It doesn't help the case for theism. Judging from your religious views, you seem to believe in a specific, personal god. Not just some thing that created the universe then either left or sat back and watched. Even though these are both god concepts, they're very different. Discovering why an eclipse occurs tells us this isn't some supernatural event. It's just the moon or the world getting in the other's way to block the sun. What is necessary about a deity when everything we've ever had a proven explanation for has been explained naturally?

Gawd used to be necessary to explain lightning. Hell, he used to be necessaey to explain the eclipse you point out. Discovering how the universe works removes the need for a supernatural explanation one step at a time. After a certain threshold it becomes quite reasonable to assume that if gawd isn't necessary for this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this, then he probably isn't necessary for that either. Lek, why don't you try reading some science books instead of accepting whatever your holy shaman spoon feeds you? You've shown you're not a insanely close-minded in your beliefs by changing your stance on evolution. Take a good long hard look at cosmology next. I'd recommend this one to start with: Lawrence M. I don't know if that criticism about explanations works. Is Lek making an argument from the best explanation?
