The Devil cannot abide prayer over food and will take any opportunity he can to inflict pain upon those Good Christian Applebee's goers.
The Devil has many wiles at his disposal, including random grease splatters. That Devil is a hard worker!
Or, it could be the Devil has become a food critic and was warning the Christian diner to avoid Applebee's fajitas for they are an abomination unto all Good Eating.

If the Devil is intent on inflicting pain and has a hand in restaurant/fast food experiences, I have to assume he gets kick-backs from Burger King. That Whopper Meal I inhaled en route to a ship I had to board is going to plague me for hours to come. Next time, I'll save a few bucks and just eat Crisco from the can.
