For books? I'm also a huge fan of James Rollins (Both sigma force series and stand alone, as well as the co-written books with Rebecca Cantrell, if you're into vampires-not the sparkly kind). And I believe it's hard to go wrong with Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child books. A good one for patrons of this site:

Yes, yes! Preston/Child is an awesome combination. I'm about half-way through the Pendergast novels (taking a break for some urban fantasy) and have read Blasphemy.
Have you read anything by the sadly departed Vince Flynn? Fantastic political thrillers.
