RE: Christian's attacking my 6 yo daughter with their BS!

How about drawing up a satanic contract and signing their names on it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

BUT! Izzy can't read yet and certainly couldn't read the fine print in the back of that new testament. She was surely put up to it by her crazy parents. So the parents of one kid signed another kid's name under the portion that reads "MY decision to receive Christ as my saviour"? I wonder, do they believe that Christ approves of their deceit?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

He certainly isn't objecting to all the deceit done in his name in general.

Speaking personally, if it were my daughter, then she can come to that conclusion after neutral investigation of the facts, and not proselytizing from predatory adults looking to foist their dogma on the young in the least critical way possible.
That's what this is about. Not close minded atheist parents or specific religious education, it's about people with no sense of proper boundaries trying to get at someone else's kid behind their back. That doesn't get a free pass just because the ideas involved were religious; it's absolutely an asshole thing to do, and you wouldn't be trying to arrange things for this little gotcha if the theists were of any other religion but the one you already agree with.
So if your daughter came to you and wanted to get baptized you would not try Esquilax her out of her desision? What if despite your 'netural' up bringing, she decides to go Hard core christian..

I'm a southern Baptist preacher's kid, I know their drill. No, I won't allow her to go to church with them in the same way I won't allow the North Koreans to waterboard her. I don't want her subject to manipulation and peer pressure techniques until she is ready to handle it with her own reasoning skills.
I will teach her about liars for jesus and the fact that there is no evidence of any magic gods anywhere and that belief in fairies, gods and Magic is for the ignorant masses too lazy to learn science.
What if she doesn't want to listen to your propaganda? What if she found truth in Jesus, and wanted to follow Him instead of you?

What if atheists did the same thing to your daughter.

Are you trying to get us to say yes, so you can say we're as bad as your side, Drich? Would that honestly make you feel better about your position?

Fair? Or how about we let our kids worry more about basic social and educational skills for now, and not worry abut the religious stuff until they're adults. If you worry about your ability to convert them when they're independent of you, then you need to reevaluate your ideas. something that can't easily be believed by an educated adult is probably not worth teaching.
No need for church I would want to research ole stevie (because im sure your poor kid has been indoctrinated with his mess) so I could go point by point like i do with you 'good people' and answer or refute everything he has to say.
And as far as trying the same with my kid(s) you are more than welcome to do your best. Doubt only exists when questions go unanswered.

Turn the tables around, Drich. If you had a 6 year old daughter and she was told by her friend's atheist parents that there is no God and she decided, at 6 years old, that she no longer wanted to go to church, would you honor that wish?
Or would you decide that 6 years old is too young for a child to be proselytized to by anyone without that child's parent's permission?
With a 6 year old want is not a consideration. Need how ever is. If she can explain why she needs to go or not go with any legit concern or reason then I would take her or we would stay home. Even if she 'needed' to goto a cultish church we would go together till she came to a point where questions came up, and again I would do my research bide my time and then we would look at everything critically. (even at 6)

IF there is EVER a question you do not think I have answered simply pm me a link or re-ask it. the only reason I dont get to all of them is because I usally have a few threads going at one and sometimes I simply miss them.

Sounds kinda creepy to me as well, your doing more harm by teaching Christianity to young children. When they enter the real world, they will see it's not as kind as they were taught. As far there one of there main teachings is concerned, a priest teaching homophobia then the thoughts in back of many of there minds (Something about taking child into a hidden spot which is also out of view of others to show them something), That's saving the children alright!
lol, noobs.. So quick to judge, so quick to pull from sterotypes and bigotry.
Good luck with your approach.

Or Muslim. What if a Muslim sent their holy book home with Drich's six year old child?
Brakeman, tell us how it goes.
We have a couple at the house now. I don't think it would offer any real appeal.

I have read your story on this forum, Drich. You were an older teen whose mother attended a Korean speaking Christian church. There is no comparison between a six year old mind and an older teen's mind.
My oldest son is a Christian. I don't try to deconvert him. He has a right to decide on his own views toward religion.

What if she wants to get baptized?
What if your hypothetical 6-year-old daughter decided she wants a facial tattoo, or a genital piercing, like her new friends? What if she wants to get married? Would you allow it?
Soo.. in your mind's eye comparing long term physical commitments that are not legal for a child of that age, and a spiritual devotion are on equal footing to you?
I know you always like to stack the deck in your favor, but come-on stimmy you not even comapring apples and oranges here.
