One Overused Word That I Hate

RE: One Overused Word That I Hate
The word I hate is Hero. Everyone is a hero. everyone who has ever endured a challenge no matter how common place is a hero. the word has been completely devalued and it now means nothing to those in the community who should indeed be held up as heros.

One word I hate seeing especially in news reports is 'miracle'. The surgery was successful -miracle; the plane landed safely -miracle; woman survived difficult delivery -miracle. It's utterly disrespectful to the skill, years of training and dedication and hard work of the people who were behind this so called 'miracle'. It's amazing, yes, but there ain't nothing supernatural about it.

If the above was true this would be a Christian forum. Smile

There are at least two things wrong with that.  First, the more technical (and more trivial) reason why that is wrong.  My statement was about what people should do, not what they actually do.  Second, since there is no good reason to believe in Christianity, if everyone reasoned as they ought, no one would be a Christian at all.  It is just a silly, primitive superstition, nothing more.

But let us not digress this thread into something it isn't meant to be.  You are right that the word "hero" is overused, and in being overused, has been degraded and made practically meaningless.  Your analysis of that is exactly correct.  Just accept credit for your correct idea gracefully, and argue about other topics in other threads.

I completely agree.  To me it comes a close second to "blessed" as a much overused word.

The use of the word, “WAR”. War on drugs, war on terror, war on poverty, and the worst one in the U.S., The War on Christians. If I have to hear that there is a war on christians within this country again… AAAHHHHH!!

Fox News gets turned on in the house, I have to hear about the war on christians. I’m sure I’ll hear that there’s a war on christmas too at least 15 times, when that comes around again. There is no fucking war on christians! One may say, “Salacious, christians heads are getting chopped off in the middle east.” Well, that’s islam for ya, and christians haven’t been that innocent in history either. There’s evil in both of their holy books, what do you expect is going to happen? That's why we have laws in this country, to help prevent that kind of shit.

Christians get to wear their crosses, have their tax-exempt churches, brainwash their offspring, proselytize in the streets, and have their evangelists on T.V. and ringing your doorbell. Just because this nation is becoming more secular everyday, doesn’t mean that there is a war on you nut jobs. Sorry you don’t get to preach your religion at work, or tell your students at a public school that jesus died for their sins. I know that treads all over your religious freedoms so terribly, but if you don’t like it, MOVE! Why don’t you go to Saudi Arabia, and start preaching your christian faith? Give me a call when you are dying (literally) to come back to America you fucktards!

You guys are to sensitive, why do you believe saying to someone using the word bless or a variation of it is anything other than being kind. Political correctness has gone way overboard and that is a phrase I dislike profusely. People have gotten to the point that kindness is being old fashion, out of touch or irritating, grow up and accept the kindness that comes your way and be thankful someone cares enough to say a kind word to you, even if the word is "bless."

So everyone have a blessed and awesome day, enjoy it, tomorrow may not come for you.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
