Is it better to be 'murdered'/Martyred and live for eternity, or is it better to live long and wealthy but be lost to Hell for eternity?

Ah, no. My response answer both of the two situations presented by Rhythm in stating which was better. To die as a martyr or to live rich and corrupt. While there are other ways to die, these were the only two options on the table being discussed.

Drich, please tell me if I have your life story incorrect. Your grandfather fought in the Korean War for the North. The Korean branch of your family sometimes had difficulty finding food. Your father was somehow involved in helping your  mother's family reach our country. Your mom is a Christian who attended a Korean Church. She never taught you her language so you weren't very happy in her church.

Your father kicked you and your sister out of the home and he went through a cycle of making up with you only to stop talking to you. During one of the confrontations with your dad, he accused your wife of selling herself on the corner so you punched him in the face.

The doctors have told you that you have AIDS but later decided you didn't. You started your own business financed by money a stranger gave you and you are now wealthy. You met your wife in high school, and married her in your mid twenties. She suffered with heroin addiction and almost died on the bathroom floor of Barnes and Noble. You stuck by her and she finally turned her life over to god. Afterwards the addiction was cured.

At some point, you claim to have talked to an angel and saw the future.  You also have three patents and sell your products internationally. Oh, and you have a beagle. I only remember that because you wrote that after I said my beagle died.

Your father-in-law is uncomfortable with some of the things that you teach children in his church's Sunday school.

You also wrote in this thread that you have a fourth grade education.

Do you still have cancer?  Is there anything else that I missed about you? I will admit, I have trouble believing your story but I thought I would write it down to make certain that I hadn't misunderstood anything you have said in the past.

For some reason you remind me of the crazys in the new Mad Max flick when they say "I live, I die, I live again ". Then they spray paint their mouth Crome so they will go to Valhalla all Crome and shiny.

WWII for Japan. after they seized/annexed his family's lands durning ww1 and made him work the land as a slave to produce food for the empire. We have ties to North korea as we share a family name with it's leaders. (It's a popular name, it would be like smith orWashington here.)

Quote:The Korean branch of your family sometimes had difficulty finding food.
They were flush with food. It just belonged to Japan and they could not have it for themselves or families. Many died of starvation in the presence of the food they needed to live.

Quote:Your father was somehow involved in helping your  mother's family reach our country.
Uncle was an airforce officer, my mother sister was a translator in the office he worked durning the Korean war.

Quote:Your mom is a Christian who attended a Korean Church.
Before that she was a Buddhist, and so too were my grandparents.

Quote:She never taught you her language so you weren't very happy in her church.
I know enough Korean to get by as it was the only thing spoken unless my dad was home. I did not like her church because I was treated like an outsider/bastard (sick-ie) because I was a mixed race kid. They treated me how white people treated them outside the church. (How arabs were treated after 911)

Quote:Your father kicked you and your sister out of the home and he went through a cycle of making up with you only to stop talking to you. During one of the confrontations with your dad, he accused your wife of selling herself on the corner so you punched him in the face.
not exactly but close enough.

Quote:The doctors have told you that you have AIDS but later decided you didn't.
Actually They diagnosis an Immune system deficiency as I had a really bad skin virus that left terrible leasions that had to be frozen off (2 or 3 hundred of them all over my neck shoulders and arms. I got 1/2 though the procedure and was supposed to come back the following week, but the rest went away themselves. (after my concession to whatever fate God had instore for me.)
Quote:You started your own business financed by money a stranger gave you and you are now wealthy.
Yes, and I am not wealthy/disposable income. Everything we make is either rolled back into the business or given away. I collect a 30K a year salary to pay my bills. Yes sometimes the we will find a 'business' reason to spend a week in NYC and see shows, but for the most part we live with in our budgets. I still live in the same house I bought when I first moved away from my parents.

Quote:You met your wife in high school, and married her in your mid twenties.
No I met her friend in high school, she was a freshman my senior year, and she 'talked' me into going with her to church. We had an on again and off again relationship for some time. then when my wife to be in 2001 decided to try and put her life back together she went to back to the same church, I took it upon myself to start and hold a collage age/singles ministry at that time. we had 70+ members at one point. This ministry was the reason she came back to church. The the girl I went to high school introduced me to Trich and the rest is history..

Quote:She suffered with heroin addiction and almost died on the bathroom floor of Barnes and Noble.
That was one/the last of two of two OD's I was apart of, she had other before she met me. 200 to 250 dollars a day worth of smack is a lot for a body to process.

Quote:You stuck by her and she finally turned her life over to god.
Actually I gave up and was forcing her to move in with her brother, because I had reached my limit. then God step in using the OCSD and the county jail to give me the time I needed to come around.

Quote:Afterwards the addiction was cured.
I spoke with her yesterday after writing my last post about this and I asked her what happened what made her stop? She said again with out any prompting that it was like God turned off a switch and she didn't want that or ciggeretts anymore. (I had forgotten she quite smoking at the same time.)

Quote:At some point, you claim to have talked to an angel and saw the future.
I didn't see anything except the road in front of me. He told me what was to happen (And the stuff that had been, even the fight I had with my dad and the reasons behind it/the reason he kicked me out) and everything was/is on point.

Quote:You also have three patents and sell your products internationally.

I have one patent I own, and share in two others for an all electric delivery truck refrigeration system. (We provide a power management system to run an idependant refrigeration system) We partnered with an itialian manufacturer who builds the actual refrigeration system to distribute. (They have the international clients)Currently in the US We have trucks currently in NYC at a big on-line grocer who delivers food you order to your door step.
(We are still kinda in a beta with them)
The current industry model has a diesel engine powering the 'reefer.' We took the engine out and replaced with an electric motor and a power supply that will run the unit up to 12 hours.

Quote:Oh, and you have a beagle.
3 actually the oldest being 18 or 19. we got him when he was 8 or 9, that was 10 years ago.

Quote: I only remember that because you wrote that after I said my beagle died.
sorry about that, they are good dogs.

Quote:Your father-in-law is uncomfortable with some of the things that you teach children in his church's Sunday school.
Im not sure what this is in reference to... My father doesn't like all the Jesus specific stuff I teach as he is one of those 'spiritual' types who want all religion to be the same.

Quote:You also wrote in this thread that you have a fourth grade education.
I was diagnosed as 'learning disabled' due to dyslexia and several other factors I cant seem to remember at the moment. Long story short, I graduated high school on a 4th grade reading/comprehension level. (That is why I spell as I do/Phenotically rather than by the standard

My senior year my Ag teacher introduced me to comic books, and I taught myself how to read/taught myself how to unscramble the words on page retain/picture what I read.

Quote:Do you still have cancer?
right now they said no I don't have any signs of cancer. they even did one of those genetic scans and nothing is showing up, but my white cell count is still higher than normal (25K) So I have to get checked out a couple time a year.

Quote: Is there anything else that I missed about you?
Lots, survived a burst appendix, a whole bunch a 'family' stuff I am not going to be sharing, the car dealership/lot we are opening. When we get it up and running maybe I can buy ad space here and spam all of you with car/refrigerated van ads.. Big Grin Plus my primary business isn't the 'innovations' we mentioned It is building refrigerated trucks for delivery. we build the delivery trucks they use at places Disney, starbucks, boarshead, edible arrangements ect. (Ive got lots of pics if you want to see them)

Quote: I will admit, I have trouble believing your story but I thought I would write it down to make certain that I hadn't misunderstood anything you have said in the past.
Well you did get most of it wrong.. but even so I know how 'fantastic' all of this must sound. But, you asked what does the Holy Spirit do in the OP. The short answer is He establishes and maintain YOUR Belief/faith All of what we reviewed here is how the Holy Spirit has worked in my life first to establish my Faith and then to maintain it/to Give me 'proof.'your experience may be more radical

Again, all of this crazy stuff puts one well past his ablity to manage or manipulate a situation. To come out on top of just one of these situation it can very easily be attributed to chance. but to live your whole life busting through one situation after another.. To an honest person it quickly stops being about you or even chance. It quickly becomes about God. Again when I do what it is He would have me do I am blessed with more to manage. when I go my own way it all begins to fall apart.
