If everyone was atheist

Well, I'm sure we wouldn't be trying to fuck each other over on the pretext of whose imaginary friend is more offended.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

That may not necessarily follow, but I'm pretty sure the culprit wouldn't be hidden away at the expense of blaming the victim as a matter of policy.

Indeed, the idea of personal responsibility is something religion is good at perverting. It's messed up that you can go apologise to an uninvolved and likely imaginary third party and expect all is well. Instead, you should apologise to the parties you actually wronged, make it up to them where possible, accept any relevant consequences and learn from the experience. If the end of organised religion means stopping this ridiculous workaround for dealing with guilt then that would be a good thing.

Also, any kind of victim blaming, which appears all over the place in many religions, is absolutely sick and we would be better off without it.

More and more, the liberal end of theists seem to pay lip service to all the hardcore stuff their religion demands while pretty much ignoring it in practice. I'm all for this. Hopefully the hardcore ones will eventually be replaced by more and more liberals, at least in places where ruthless indoctrination and enforcement by violence aren't taking place.

Am I allowed to teach my kids Catholicism, as my parents taught me?

Fair enough.

May I ask why?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Life is difficult enough without the unsubstantiated bullshit religion hangs around your neck. A world without religion simply means there's one less thing to worry about.

I think mindless obedience to anything is bad. In my experience, most Christians don't follow and obey the rules because they truly understand them. They do so out of blind obedience. I also think it's better to honestly and accurately explain both sides of the discussion and allow them to choose for themselves. I know that goes against Christian doctrine that children should be molded early, but if Christianity is the truth, it should be just as easy to convince a rational adult as it is to convince an irrational child and if it's not the truth, children shouldn't be indoctrinated into it.
