I'm studying geology and some biology.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Jealous! I'm studying Biology, but my college doesn't offer a geology course (when I say college I mean the English version. Ages 16-18, not university).
Are you enjoying that? I'm liking the biology alot Still wish I coulda done geology =/

My farther has been somewhat good at geology and it's something I understood well. I've only just got involved with biology.
In the natural history museum, there was this huge globe and I was running around it pointing out continents that have moved through millions of years. I guess I was showing off a little and a touch excited. I have some large interests in geology

It may well have been I don't know but it wasn't evolutionists that perpetrated it if it was. Does it matter? Of course it does ... precision is important in science.

No, It does not matter because as I have already explained science lays no claim to absolute truth, it simply represent s our best current view of the universe around us, at no point does science claim it cannot be hoaxed ... the point that seems to elude you bozo's (sorry bozo) is that it encompasses mechanisms that minimise error and expose fraud. No religion can claim that.

Being an adult is not about not swearing, it's about engaging with the debate ... tell me how your comment about scientists having erasers in any real way engages with my point that science is flexible? Let me restate it for you, you fool ... science is an ongoing and self-correcting attempt to explain the observable universe, in that sense the fact that theories change, that they are exposed as flawed and that there is much more to be explained is EXACTLY what science is, what science does.
(December 6, 2008 at 2:51 pm)Psalm 23 Wrote: Yes, Again, we already covered this part. Science makes mistakes, and they have to go back and try to figure out how they screwed up. They do not have the knowledge to understand everything, that's why they call it a "theory."
No, that's NOT what a theory is and if you actually knew any science at all you'd know that! A theory is nothing like a hunch or a guess but actually represents the very highest explanation that science can offer, a fully fledged explanation including detailed mechanisms of how a given thing works.
Here's an idea Psalm ... why don't you go away and learn some science before you try to engage others who know an damned site more than you do.

On the same note religion has had its share of frauds perpetrated to push a belief in the existence of Jesus (the shroud of Turin)James the brother of Christ (the ossuarry)the tomb of Christ which christians cant seem to find. You know why you cant find the so called true tomb of Christ?Because like the rest of the bible and its tales he is a fictional person,a myth. Also, the bible as I have stated so many times is nothing more than a mish mash of plagiarized ancient myths from some of the older surrounding cultures and religious beliefs of the time.

Fuck self-esteem.
Child abusers, molesters, serial killers, mostly, these guys have a high level of self-esteem.

No need to explain, though, just talk to the average atheist and you'll soon find out why we have those opinoins.

Oh, so your God does it better?
Right! He fucks things up, and decides to leave it that way and refer to it as "God's Will"
Like Kyu has said:
Go learn some science, dude.
I've read the Bible about three or four times, I've even got an online Bible in my favorite webpages, I've read the Quran and the Thalmud as well, and I must say: They're all the same, just different words and other people getting killed, but still, the same dumb Gods.
No offense, though.

I've just come to this forum, hoping for a refuge away from people like Mr Psalm and their tiresome opinions. Can't there just be a forum for atheists in which the argument against religion has already been won? I have never witnessed an argument with a fanatic that has ended in their conversion and I'm fed up with them infiltrating scientific forums and forcing us to address their delusions on an equal footing to science.

Hi Evil Si, and welcome to the forum.
Honestly, I think a 100% atheist forum would bore the shit out of me.
Best regards,

I know what you mean. I know a few forums that have absolutely no theists but the only real discussions that take place there are home, interests and some personal talk. Very little is on religion. I guess it's ok when you just want to talk to atheists but I find it fun to debate theists from time to time. I find it amusing.

And you get to delve deeper to [further] see what makes them tick (if you can).
