"The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us..." should we be grateful?

The video did nothing to say this was not true. So I really don't see how it relates to what I said.

Okay, let me ask you this then. What difference does it make if Christians who think gays are vile, are rare?

I don't need to respect your opinion that you think homosexual sex is immoral, or that you think the catholic church is a force of good in the world, or I especially don't need to respect someone's opinion that radical muslims, killing non-believers, is something to be respected. We don't need to be told to respect crazy opinions regarding religion, when we're on an atheist forum.

Did I do any of that?

I've seen you write that you thought homosexual sex was immoral on here, for sure. I didn't claim all that other stuff, although I'm sure you think the catholic church is a force for good in the world, since you adhere to it. Yes, you think we need to respect your opinions even though we think they're immoral. The muslim one, was an example of an opinion that shouldn't be respected, along with the other two. I didn't say you said all of those things, but I'm simply saying that we don't have to respect people's opinions/religions, when we consider them to be highly immoral, ridiculous, and many times, an obvious force/excuse for evil in this world.

Oh, yeah, that changes everything. You just won't admit to anything will you? Like I said, adding 'just MHO' doesn't help. You did say it.

Vic, I don't think I deserve to be called a liar here. Take a look at our convo:

I would never say that to you, or anybody.

Can you post a where I said this to you, as not an opinion? I don't remember ever doing so, and don't believe I would.

I never said this as being some sort of order rather than an opinion.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It means we shouldn't make the general statement that Christians think gays are vile, or treat Christians in general like they all feel this way.

Did someone do that?  Must have missed it.  Meh, in any case, did you want to have one of those serious, respectful and honest discussions you mentioned earlier?  I made the offer. I'd love the opportunity to explain to you why this suggestion you've made is actually -harmful- to your faith, your church...to all of us. I could also take the time to explain to you why you might enjoy and avail yourself of the benefits of a society which -doesn't- subscribe to this taboo of yours, like our society, here in the US (though we're by no means a shining example of this in each and every case, granted).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

This is a good question, and this is what I think a lot of people here don't understand. Yes, a person's religious beliefs, if they are devout, is a HUGE part of who they are.

It's basically like saying, "I'm not making fun of you, just making fun of your most core values and principles, what you stand for, and the things you hold most dear in your heart."
The thing is that if such a person has such core values and beliefs it simply wouldn't matter if someone makes fun of them.  Do KKK members change their views when people make fun of them?  Did Nazis change their views when we made fun of them in our WWII propaganda?  Did the early Christians usually change their views when they were being laughed at while dying in the Roman arenas? Do the Westboro Baptist Church nuts change their views when people make fun of them?  Did people respect the views of the flat earthers?  Embrace your insanity and delusions.  They are yours.  Take pride in them.  Love them.  Cherish them.  They are what make you, you.

As Rhythm already pointed out, nobody did this. Nice bit of misrepresentation you've got going on there.

I was talking about me saying everyone should HAVE to be respectful to those with different beliefs. I never said this.

Do I think it's something people should strive for? Yes. Think being the key word there. It's my opinion. Am I allowed to have the opinion that it's best to be respectful?

You're making it sound like I want it to be against forum rules or something. This is not the case, and I clarified this numerous times on this very thread.

Lol, this is the second time I've been compared to the KKK on these forums. As you see, I'm not going ballistic. Shy
