What are you talking about? The statutory rape age is 18 in Texas.

With parental consent, 16-17 year olds can marry. I don't agree with a 16 year old getting married, but there's a gulf of difference between 16 and 10. What's your point? The laws and practices in Texas are not the same as Yemen.

Consent is the magic word. A child can't consent to sexual acts or marriage. That's why there are laws in most countries to protect children from being traded and treated as a sexual commodity. It's only the autocratic theocracies still allowing that practice.
