A cell is composed of matter and consciousness.
This consciousness can be tiny as much as you want but nevertheless there is a minute tiny amount of consciousness.
Quote:I'm guessing this relates to the Yogi and Hindu world view that the universe and everything in it is a manifestation of Ultimate Reality which is conscious.
I rather would say...........supreme consciousness or the cosmic consciousness.
Quote:This Ultimate Reality consciousness wouldn't be anything like our tiny, limited human consciousness, though.
You are correct in saying.........LIMITED consciousness but as far as the differences between us humans and God is all about a consciousness that is dormant or latent and a consciousness that is fully aware as in God case.
Little Rik Wrote:If we follow this line of thinking then we also have to consider what happen when our body die.
Will our consciousness die when our body die or will carry on and merge into what our feelings wish to take us?
Why would our consciousness die when as we can see in nature nothing die?
The small always merge into the big so to me it is totally UNSCIENTIFIC to say that with the physical death everything die.
Quote:Let's say Ultimate Reality really is conscious for the purpose of this discussion.
1) Ultimate Reality has manifested me as a body with a brain. My personal consciousness is a product of my brain. When my brain dies it will no longer produce my personal consciousness.
That is your guessing which i don't agree with.
Quote:2) It's logical to assume that a conscious Ultimate Reality would retain the information gained by manifesting as me throughout my lifetime. This information would, of course, be part of Ultimate Reality so I would no longer exist as a little, individual entity.
My believe is that when you will be ready you will merge in this ocean of cosmic consciousness.
You were that entity before and you will go back in it.
But to be ready you will have to create a parallelism between you and the cosmic consciousness
so there will not be any more differences among the two.
Quote:3) Everything in Nature gets recycled so Ultimate Reality could recycle my character and personality traits by manifesting a different body and brain. This new brain wouldn't produce me, of course - it would be a different person.
All the matter get recycle so your body will also get recycle but the consciousness will not.
The only differences that the consciousness will produce is related to getting more or less aware.
Aware of who we really are.

Hallucinations can only be perceived when the brain is alive and active not dead. 4) NDEs already proved that consciousness can be active outside the brain so once again WRONG WRONG WRONG. 1) Yep!
2) The body makes drugs, including hallucinogens and opiates. 3) Not Dead. 4) Nope!
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

Little Rik Wrote:You are correct in saying.........LIMITED consciousness but as far as the differences between us humans and God is all about a consciousness that is dormant or latent and a consciousness that is fully aware as in God case. I've read various descriptions of full blown mystical experiences which are explained as a oneness with the Divine/Cosmic Consciousness/God or whatever you want to call it. None of them include information about the experiences etc of everything in the universe even though Cosmic Consciousness would have this information because it is everything in the universe and has been since the physical universe began. This suggests to me that a human is still very limited in what he or she is equipped to absorb from the experience because the human brain isn't capable of handling it. Confused Ape Wrote: My personal consciousness is a product of my brain. When my brain dies it will no longer produce my personal consciousness. Rik Wrote:That is your guessing which i don't agree with. By personal consciousness I mean this little individual, Confused Ape. I'm not really an individual, though. I'm a manifestation of Cosmic Consciousness playing a role in the physical universe. I'm only Confused Ape because of the body and brain that Cosmic Consciousness is currently wearing as me. I can't sing, understand higher mathematics, run the four minute mile or paint beautiful pictures because my body and brain aren't equipped for these things. This doesn't matter to Cosmic Consciousness because it's also playing the roles of other humans who can do these things. Little Rik Wrote:My believe is that when you will be ready you will merge in this ocean of cosmic consciousness. If I go back to it I will cease to exist as Confused Ape. You tried that already with someone else, and I'm gonna tell you pretty much the exact same thing. NDEs and out-of-body-experiences don't happen outside the body. They're basically dreams, and they are still generated by the brain. Nothing about them proves that they happen outside of a brain. Did you find Heaven Is For Real to be a convincing and well-reasoned film? Fucking dolt. By the way, mods discourage posting in red or green because they use those colors for official stuff. Better go with a nice, stylish pink instead.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42) Also, I has a website: www.RedbeardThePink.com (August 1, 2015 at 11:11 am)Redbeard The Pink Wrote:(August 1, 2015 at 8:20 am)Little Rik Wrote: Stop for a moment to swear and masturbate your brains and read some of these experiences. Keep on guessing and masturbate your pink brain idiot. There is enough evidence to prove that NDEs are real experiences. When the brain is declared dead by a doctor and when the consciousness is alive and well this is evidence that the consciousness can be active outside a dead brain. Not only this but several people who had NDEs experiences could see things happening while their dead body was lying on the emergency room bed that is why i invited you to read these experiences so you could wake up and grow up and leave the mental sewer in which you have been for so long. When there is activity in the brain, it is not dead.
When the brain is dead, there is no activity. Doctors do not know where that line is. Doctors are wrong all the time. Anyone that experiences NDE was not dead at that moment.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

How would either the doctor or patient know when the experience occurs? Maybe the "visions" occurred at the moment of trauma, or on the ambulance ride to the hospital? Doctors can only assess clinical death, when blood stops circulating, heart stops beating, and breathing stops, We know that the brain remains active for almost a minute during clinical death.
