They're like people but they've lost their ability to think and sort of float around in a deluded state, caring about nothing except serving their evil master. They live in a different plane of existence to us.

I love LOTR. My wife even more so! Fellowship is her favourite, we must have watched it 20 times now. I've read the book too. Different! A lot of liberties in the films Wink Still love it though.
