Does Calvinism make the most sense as far as Christianity Goes?

RE: Does Calvinism make the most sense as far as Christianity Goes?
Deriding good work is hardly useful.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Correction: resorting to useless platitudes is hardly useful.

Don't really know what platitude means do you? Still hardly useful. It's also strange that this forum so quickly moves to insult when faced with argument. Additionally, this whole line of conversation does not contribute towards the OP.

Fine, responding to the OP:

How is it that any of us have "free will", when it's all according to "God's will"?

Textbook "Calvin" answer is that we only have free will in doing evil, and that all good is God's will. The next part is not usually stated explicitly, but basically our will can never interfere with God's will. It pretty much views free will as purely negative. However, my current belief would probably be closer to the non-existence of free will, though I know that the implications there are a can of worms. Honestly, when it comes to that, I'm undecided though. I really don't believe Calvin's "answer" actually is adequate though. Anyone have any idea how it would be? Logically speaking of course.

Clearly, Calvin was a nut.

Using a platitude: you have to be crazy about what you do to be any good at it. Seriously though, he kinda was. I mean he did go up and NAIL his 99 theses to door of the local church. Its also not like nails are that cheap, and the myth/history part of it usually involves him wallpapering the door with them, haha. So yeah maybe a screw loose somewhere.

I think I can sum up Calvinism in three words:

"You are fucked."

I can sum that in one word:

Life.
