You do realize Jews don't believe Jesus is a prophet, right? Quote mining the Christian version-OT for vague verses and saying "that's predicting Jesus" isn't going to cut the mustard. If you're trying to convert a Jew to Christianity you're doing a poor job. Jewish theology isn't the same as Christian theology. Jews don't believe Jesus is the messiah. The Jews don't even think the messiah is god in human form. Kaninchen will hopefully correct me on this if I'm wrong.
As a Jew, one of the problems one often finds with talking to Christians is that because they see Judaism as an essential part of the Christian drama of 2000 years ago there's a tendency for them to have to invent a Judaism to make it fit into the script - what I call the "Christianity is Judaism plus Jesus/Judaism is Christianity minus Jesus" effect.
It isn't and never was and, no, Messiah isn't a God/Demigod concept.
The gods did not reveal, from the beginning,
All things to us, but in the course of time
Through seeking we may learn and know things better.
These things are, we conjecture, like the truth.
But as for certain truth, no man has known it,
Nor shall he know it, neither of the gods
Nor yet of all the things of which I speak.
And even if by chance he were to utter
The final truth, he would himself not know it:
For all is but a woven web of guesses.

I'm happy to admit I know feck all about Judaism, except the very basics.
There is some evidence that the Jewish God is a lot less angry:

For outsiders, it might be best thought of as an extremely long-running courtroom drama - sort of annoyingly compelling.

Yep. I have to go with that. I clearly made a mistake by looking for a quick answer to a cookie-cutter question regarding Jesus and the Copycats.
I regret having gotten lazy, and I apologize to you all. You may rest assured that when I post going forward, I will BURY you with references, links and bibliographical information to back up what I'm saying.
Congrats. Way to man up.

Expect what you like. Let those with an agenda or a case to make quote their sources. Those of us with a thought or two of our own will just keep spewing forth. (Let me know if I miss spot.)

That's likely the biggest problem. They don't care to understand Judaism on it's own terms, since they want to view it through their Christian prisma. This is especially truth of salesmen apologists. Understanding others isn't in the apologist's guide book. They just parrot what other apologists say about what the messiah is.

Both my grandfathers have been jewish. But, at least the one that didn't die before I was born, wasn't religious in any way, shape or form. The only tradition he helt up were the obliogatory pieces of matza at the Easter table and a few jiddish words he used to call me by when I was little. Lifelong socialist although he was a rather successful tailor and came from a family of merchants. I doubt the other one was more religious, since he's known to have gambled away his fortune at the tables of Abazia and Monacco during the 20ies and 30ies. And both married christian women, one of them even divorced before. So, they obviously weren't traditionalists.
So, truth to tell, I don't know shit about judaism although, technically, I'm half jewish.

As I said, from your responses, you're patently not bright enough to understand the answer to that question.
I'm way out of my league here.
But for the benefit of the others here are a lot "brighter", does God exist, Kaninchen?

Were the Jews in 100 BC expecting a messiah based on the prophecies found in the scriptures?

I suspect that Kaninchen has more in common with you than she will admit.
