JUST OPEN YOUR HEART, DAMMIT!

Wrong, we dismiss god, any god, by lack of evidence. Faith is what you are going by, since you accept one particular god by lack of evidence.

You as a Christian, are in fact promoting Biblical magic. Christians, hypocritically refuse to call it magic, but face it GC...that's exactly what it is. The Bible clearly says that your god spoke the world into existence....no mistaking it. That is a spell. A magic spell. Without a tremendous belief in magic, it is impossible to be true believer. All that you seem to be pushing is magic beliefs. You shouldn't get bent out of shape because people can't accept that
magic is real. Come on, GC. Be reasonable.

You good and well know what I'm asking about the Holy Spirit, you are afraid to answer, for what reason I have no idea but the only conclusion I can come to is you're afraid to answer a simple question that a ten year old would have no trouble answering. Have you ever seen or have proof of anyone doing this magic you speak of, seems to me you're taking things from a child's fairy tale books. Read William Paley's book Natural Theology: or Evidence of the Existence and Attributes of the Deity Collected from the Appearance of Nature. By the way I'm not the one getting excited here, you're tactic is to divert from what I have patiently been asking.

GC
GC, you asked me if my church believed in the Holy Spirit in #65. If that is the same question you are Rain Maning about, I answered you. Yes my church recognized the Holy Spirit and my pastor preached sermons on it. If my answer is not sufficient for you, why don't you  simply rephrase it and ask in the form of a question this time? And try being direct with what you want to ask.

I've never seen anyone doing magic, because magic is not real. I'm simply stating that you as a Christian believe in magic. The supernatural events that occur in the Bible and the supernatural attributes and powers you claim your God has could ONLY be possible by breaking the laws of nature. That is by definition, magic. You believe in magic and you want atheists to as well. You just can't see how ridiculous and unreasonable that request is.

You have no evidence He doesn't exist, so you must use faith to dismiss God, it's by necessity.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

@ Thena323, I asked a plain and simple question in post #92 and you have tiptoed around it because you're afraid to answer it. I'm going to ask it one finial time to see if your courage has gained you. Did your church teach you that the Holy Spirit was necessary in learning the scriptures and what denomination was your church?

Good grief you are a fucking idiot, G-C.

It is up to morons like you to demonstrate by evidence that your delusions are real.  We DO NOT HAVE TO DISPROVE YOUR INSANITY.

Grow up, asshole.

Project much?

So I'm using faith to dismiss Bigfoot, the Yeti or the Loch Ness monster? I use faith to dismiss Odin, Zeus or Osiris? Or Allah, Vishnu or Ganesha?

You dismiss them all with a wave of a hand. Is that based on faith or simply because it's reasonable to dismiss them based on what you know and in the absence of evidence for their existence?

What you fail to understand is that for us, your particular god plays in the same league as the above.

For your information I do believe in the God of creation and He has made it plain that He's the only God, so I have no problem dismissing the other gods, they are not real, period. As for Nessie and Bigfoot, well let's just say they generate a lot of money and the people who make money from them will keep them alive for as long as they can.

That's not what I asked and you know it.

There's no need to accuse me of lacking courage because the semi-delusional, rambling quality of your posts consistently lacks cohesion, proper sentence structure, AND proper punctuation. That's your fault.

I attended both Pentecostal church and Baptist church for the majority of my church going life. I attended Bible study at some point at both churches. To my recollection, Bible study always opened in prayer. I am certain the Holy Spirit was invoked in these opening prayers. In my last year or so as a churchgoer, I only attended church periodically. It was an Episcopalian church. I never attended any Bible study there. I simply chose to go because it was quiet....there were no loud Holy Ghost hi-jinks such as speaking in tongues, being slain in the spirit, faith healing or any other fake displays of Christian magic.

I hope that answer was good enough for you. If it's not, don't be a douche about it....just  be clear.

Yes, these imaginary entities really have a knack for fooling the masses and getting them to hand money over fist in their name, don't they...
