I've been watching a series about bible history and what some of the rules might have ment and why they were made. In the light of how things where back then i can see why they thought those rules where important.
A lot had to do with making sure to know who's child was who's because they had no paternity testing. Since most societies are patriarchal then it was important for the men to know that their lineage was actually theirs.
Also having as many babies as possible was a neccessity at the time thus homosexuality was bad as was sodomy (anal sex doesn't produce children.... who knew?).
Marriage seemed more about ownership than anything else since a man was not in nearly as much trouble if he raped a non married woman as opposed to one that was married.
Today of course we have nearly over run the planet with humans and we can determine the paternity of a child and course rape is bad all around even if you rape your wife.

Well, not my cup of tea. Lordy, the rest of you here would experience spontaneous head explosions . . .
I like just a bit of natural, spontaneous pain (scratching, biting, etc) so I thought I'd look up some of that stuff to see where we're at. My search started with some light spankings and bondage- already too premeditated for me- then that lead to putting hundreds of needles through the skin with ribbons connecting the needles like a laced up corset, which I thought was kind of pretty, but then this lead to seeing...

I watched it becaus it was fascinating, but damn was that a little much.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

EVEN I have caught myself on Tumblr thinking to myself, damn, people DO THAT ?!?!?!?!
And then I look at the pictures.
(and I'm not even going to hint what I find disturbing)
Curiously, I've never even seen [deleted] described or photographed, despite Rule 32. I find it terribly romantic and with a weirdly appealing sci-fi biochemistry angle . . .
Too bad Jeff Dahmer never thought of it, he would never have killed anyone nor been prosecuted for it, and I think there would be willing participants. The 'romantic' angle I just find so compelling. The sci-fi aspects, well, worthy of an ep of Torchwood.
