Does Your Avatar Look Anything Like You?

I know just what you mean.  Me too.

But seriously, this, my last dog, is kind of my alter ego.  If I were infinitely more confident and a hell of a lot less tuned into everyone else's feelings while inhaling fresh air and sunlight like it was crack cocaine, I would be just like Fletcher.

Oops, I forgot that I'd replaced Fletcher's photo with my current familiar, Heidi. She also has some great qualities. She doesn't have Fletcher's swagger or his complete fearlessness. But god help the dog that keeps on pushing after she has shown submission.

She started out very much intimidated by Fletcher:

But she soon established her credentials.

I did a video a couple of months ago highlighting the main differences between me and my avatar. I use it to reassure people that I don't actually have a chainsaw.

Yes, if I lost 30lbs, most of my hair and hired a surrealist fotographer. I actually rather closely resemble Dr. Strangelove whom I had before.

I think the thundercats logo represents the aggressiveness I don't have, the nostalgia I do have and awareness of what is fiction and what isn't that I try to have.
That said... Yeah, it's kinda similar to me.

Remember Peta Wilson as Mina Harker in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".  Yep, she was a badass.

There was a cool meme posted recently about Xtianity as a death cult.

From the movie: Mina: "A man who worships death. Can we trust him?"

Wait, are you a lady? And wait again, are you a lady that looks like Famke Janssen? And wait some more, are you a lady that looks like Famke Janssen who likes ducks?

Ex, who cares about all that! ...talk to me about those puppies!

Rexbex mentioned an identity crisis and I think I'm actually having one. The only thing that resembles me is the manner in which I'm dealing with the crisis, which is "meh, it happens." I have an odd perversion in enjoying watching things slip away. Always have. I have (well, used to have) a recurring dream where I'm in my old town, in a bike race, and everyone has left me behind and I feel left behind, so I think I purposely put myself in those situation to face my fears. I remember purposely not telling my parents about a school field trip so I could feel what it would be like to be left out. I find myself doing things like that more and more.

The thing is I'm pretty quick with a quip and people tend to like having me around, so on one hand, people see me as the goof-ball, life of the party type, and on the other, I like to defy those expectations and be curmudgeonly, which is a pretty curmudgeonly thing to do. So I guess in that respect, I resemble my avatar. Plus, I'm a humanoid duck.
Gee, all I saw was the duck. Guess if I look closer, the story goes deeper than the eye can see.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I'm a phage with a smartphone. Deal with it.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

We have the same nose. When I was 20, a man told me I have a sexy nose. That changed my life. It was like being born again.

Power is sexy.
