The parable is about using your God-given talents productively. Those who use their talents wisely will acquire even more talents, which should also be used to do God's work in the world. The nobleman's order at the end of the passage applies to those who don't use their God-given talents and won't receive eternal life. Spiritually-speaking, they are dead.

There is no mention of 'spiritually speaking'. It explicitly states to murder everyone who doesn't obey the king.

All Jesus' parables had a spiritual meaning. They were meant to portray a spiritual messages. His message from this parable was not that if a boss gives his resources to his employees to use to create more wealth and they fail, that he should kill them?!
