I wonder if that model is sustainable? A self limiting religion is a Fantastic idea.
There was an early christian cult that cut it's dicks off, now what was it called?
Quote:The Valesians were a Christian sect that advocated self-castration. The sect was founded by Valens (not to be confused with the Roman Emperor of the same name), an Arabian philosopher who established the sect sometime in the second century AD.[1] They were notorious for forcibly castrating travelers whom they encountered and guests who visited them.[2]
They are known chiefly from the Panarion of Epiphanius of Salamis, which describes how disciples of the sect were not allowed to eat meat until they had been castrated, because those who are not castrated might be tempted to lust by eating certain foods. According to the Panarion, their views on authorities and powers were similar to those of Sethianism or of the Archontics.[3]

I like the bit about castrating guests who visited them.

Funny that when challenge believers that their religion is dying they come up with a never ending list of all the people who aren't "true believers". However, when they want to claim their religion is the fastest growing they want to include all of the groups they normally reject in their numbers. Isn't it interesting that when Muhammadans want to show how many Nobel Prize winners have been Muhammadan, Ahmadiyyas all of a sudden are treated as Muhammadans even though they are considered heretics.
But they still manage to keep up the illusion that it's growing. Consider this video of a brainwashing/initiation camp funded in part by oil money:

I feel like eventually it'll go the same way Christianity has gone.
Islam is in it's inquisition phase right now (where Christianity was in the late Middle Ages/early Modern period). In the same way Christianity did, Islam is committing so many horrors that it will eventually burn itself out, shooting itself in the foot by turning it's own followers against it. There is a growing secular movement in the Middle East, it's getting louder and louder, it's just a matter of time. I think Iran will be one of the first Islamic regimes to collapse looking at the young Iranian people today, they're completely fucking done with Islamism for the most part and despise the mullahs (who are an elderly, dying breed).
For now though, it's not going anywhere, and what's slowing it down is how cuddly the political left in the West are with their views of "respect Islam at any cost". This lot are so scared of being called racist by criticising Islam, that they are actually really being racist by denying human rights to brown people who are being trampled by this religion. A good gay friend of mine (who is Muslim) is one such person and the political left in the Western world (who would defend him if Islam wasn't involved) is betraying him.

So can anyone provide evidence for declining followers/reduction in converts and/or growing numbers of apostates?

How is Islam dying out when there are 1.57 billion followers?

That is the problem with all religions. I am educated enough to know that the disagreements have brought divisions among the Christian communities. The disagreements have also brought division among Muslims. Then the Muslims and Christians fight among each other. Then other belief systems also get pulled into this crap as well as the atheists regardless of beliefs or non-beliefs. Most wars are based on religious beliefs and the disagreements. Religion gets all screwed up because humans are involved in them.

Religions are a human construct so of course humans are involved.
