UK Get-Together

RE: UK Get-Together
I think a central City would be best, either London, Manc or Birmingham, just for ease of travel.

Two of you live right next to me so to speak though as I live in virtual isolation
I do not socialise. Not that I actually want to at my age any way so just saying
Photographs would be appreciated since I have an insane desire to know what
people look like when ever they can provide evidence for it. So remember that
And try not to spend for ever talking about it as well else it shall never happen

I can't afford to travel very far, but if anyone is in the Kent area at any point I would love to meet up Smile I won't be any use for drinking scenarios because my medication prohibits me, but other gatherings be it one person or several, I'm up for. I'd love to meet some of you guys!

Kent.... a 3 hour train ride from Oxford... and Birmingham is the other way...arghhhh!
I'm beginning to see some merit in meeting around London (would you be able to get to London, rob?)

Yay! I was hoping you'd be up for it Smile I'd be happy if we all went down your way or London as poca has just suggested if you'd be up for that.

Yeah, I could do London Smile

We could have a pissed group and a sober group. Or else stay sober for a while, the lightweights like me go home eventually, then everyone else gets pissed in the evening.

Or something. I'm sure we can find somewhere cool to meet up Smile I haven't any great suggestions as I don't know London well I'm afraid.

All-in wrestling.

My wife does exist, but it's very unlikely I'll be able to persuade her to come.

London is a pain in the arse to get to for me. Not to mention expensive, in travel, accommodation (else it's an early start back) and entertainment once there. It's going to be similar for everyone, no matter where we decided.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yay, cool Big Grin I'm all in for London then. I don't know it too well but I have been to a few gay clubs there, quite a while ago though. The main one I remember is G.A.Y and that's quite a chilled place where you can just sit around and talk IIRC. Not saying everyone wants to go to a gay club but if they did, that might be worth a look.

The thing I find is even if you're sober you still end up kind of acting drunk when you're around drunk people. Somehow it just loosens you up. I used to think I needed a drink to give me Dutch courage when going out but then after a few experiments I found I was wrong. So nowadays I could dance in a club even completely sober. But I'd still prefer to get pissed just cos it's more fun.

But don't forget, any sober people in a group have the signal honour of smugly recording or photographing the antics of the drunk ones, something I have found out many times, much to my chagrin, when going out with non-drinking friends Big Grin

Right Sad You're right, this is gonna be hard finding somewhere we're all happy with. Maybe we should just have regional gatherings then? But I'd hope we can all agree on one place. I'm pretty easy as long as I can get there, so I'd agree with Panda and say I think it would be best if it was a major city.
