Religious Rules that bother you the most

RE: Religious Rules that bother you the most
The Abrahamic religions' guidelines concerning sex I find to be nothing short of deplorable. They take one of the most natural elements of human nature and twist into something that is to be shunned and scorned outside of a very specific set of rules.

Oh yeah, and the whole rape business in the OT and pedophilia endorsement in the Quran are up there at the very top of vomit inducing moral standpoints.

A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Every rule that can't be defended in terms of its consequences (help versus harm).

I suppose the most sickening of all is the rule about not questioning your own religion. Keeping people silent, scared and ignorant.

It starts at "Don't eat the forbidden fruit". This stupid deity thing makes up nonsense rules about resisting temptations (which he has helpfully provided) knowing that Humans will probably fail. Then he blames Humans (his creations) for giving in to temptation (his creation) while proclaiming himself perfect. Inability to accept responsibility for your actions is one of the signs of psychopathy

If Jesus turned up when they were about to do the wafers, would he insert parts of his body into everyone's mouth in turn?

Is that what they really want?
