Okay, so in that case- how can you be sure that other parts of the bible are to be taken literally? What are the rules to determine what is literal and what is metaphorical?

I supposed they put it in the bible, because it isn’t true. Why else? Instead of saying, “god set space and time in motion” (in genesis). God allowed false information to get in, and his followers are supposed to know not to believe in it, even though it is the word of god, and they should be believing every word of it. They must be given the wisdom to cherry-pick, but I think most christians cherry-pick different parts, so they’re all actually missing the wisdom from god part too.

Is god still creating today? Maybe so. To punish all the sexual sinners, creation of antibiotic resistant STD's?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
It seems that this whole evolution stuff is a matter a war between theists and atheists, and once theists accept evolution- the war is over, and all are friends

Before the NT scriptures were written and the canon of the Bible finalized, God established an infallible Church which He continues to guide by His Holy Spirit. That Church studies these things very, very carefully. |
